Tutorial : How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Armor Building Part -7 Painting - Added
I made some video Tutorials explaining the basics for pepakura, if anyone was interested.
A lot of things in the videos are what I do. You don't have to do exactly as shown. Explore and be creative in your project in regards to methods or materials. Tutorials are here in Order: How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Building I hope they make sense. I don't really like being on camera, thus,I lack energy and enthusism. ![]() Stay Tuned for more videos to come. Good luck. ![]() Thanks to all the 3D modellers and unfolders who make this Method possible. You know who you all are. Also, the awesome prop makers who have inspired us to try this method out, with their awesome work. Last edited by STEALTH; 06-17-2011 at 10:53 AM. |

Re: How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Armor Building
Part - 6 will be a collaboration with RPF member: BlackDynamo1 - with his Awesome Iron Man Mark 6 build.
He will be explaining his method filling/sanding and detailing as he is well ahead on that stage than me. He uses cardboard but his method can apply to pepakura as well. look for that soon. |

Re: How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Armor Building
Just watched all your videos and they will be of great help to new guys just starting out in pep.
Even a seasoned guy like me picked up a great tip (3m the cloth in place first), so a big thumbs up for all the effort. Edit:-A tip deserves a tip. This is for anyone who struggles with panel lines. Before you use any bodyfiller (bondo) trace the lines with Speaker wire and use a tiny drop of superglue every one to two inches to hold it in place. Make sure that you leave enough over to be able to tug on once your filler has set. The thigh in the photo was done this way. Last edited by Rebo; 04-24-2011 at 07:35 PM. |

Re: How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Armor Building
Ahh, thank you, it's nice to be missed.
![]() Just coming out of hibernation now so hopefully I will get some good ground covered. I don't have much in the way of progress to start a thread up here yet. I don't think I should do one here anyway as the forums where I have started threads end up going **** up for one reason or another, cursed I tell ya!.

Re: Tutorial : How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Armor Building
I don't have the best net connection at home, making YouTube patchy.
Would love to check out the videos. Anyone have a suggestion on how I can download the videos at work so I can view at home? |

But I noticed that the sound on at least the second video is a bit patchy, like itīs skipping or something? Third one is okay, with much louder and clearer sound. Fourth the same. Fifth also. Awesome tutorial series, will include links to those in the Pepakura Sticky! And donīt be surprised to find yourself featured on the RPF youtube channel and facebook page

Re: Tutorial : How To Use PEPAKURA For Costume Armor Building
Thanks for this, it's really above and beyond the call of duty! I was on the fence about whether or not I wanted to get into pep, but after watching I'll definately start a HD War Machine after I finish all my stuff for DC this year.

GREAT tutorial Stealth! I've emailed your video link to several friends that have had questions regarding the pep process and I plan on using your spray adhesive trick on my next hardened piece!
Thanks! ![]() P.S. I'll also be using Rebo's trick! Very nice! |

It's really not that bad, just pace yourself. Even the sanding part. I'm not even the best at it. I don't have much experience as most people but If you just take your time with it, Anyone can end up with a decent and smooth finished piece. Quote:
down the road everyone will eventually develop their own tricks and shortcuts to it all, which is all good in the end |
