Trying to Modify a Bluetooth Headset

I'm putting together a Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell: Conviction) costume and I want to modify a bluetooth headset to look more similar to the one Sam has in the game. I will be painting a cheap one I got online, but the big thing is I want to make the LED on the side lite up green and stay lit until I turn it off. A couple pics (the one on the right is a Plantronics Explorer 210):

I will probably have to just crack it open, take out the guts and just put in a green LED and battery but I wanted to ask if anyone might know of some way to either A) change the LED to a green one, or B) reprogram it somehow so the LED stays lit. It would just be pretty cool to have the Bluetooth still working as I cosplay with it!
