As for the jacket, no thanks needed. We are all in this together. Also, since alot of you have said that you want a jacket but with some changes I figure I might as well just post it now for you to play with. Tweak away, programs. Tweak away.

When you fill it out, be sure to take the measurements from a jacket that fits the way you like. Lay it flat and get out a tape measure. As long as you place a value in each of the categories you will have a good fit... or at least the same fit as the jacket you started with.

Sure. But how would that be different than just putting your ipod/iphone in the interior pocket and running the head phones up? You can do that with any jacket.

Looks like a Fan-Made bit.. but DAMN, well done kids. David Warner's face is the dead give away that it is not a studio job from Disney.

definately fan made. someone mentioned the opening shot to be from the social network. and the acting wasnt motion picture quality. though id love to see sark make a comeback

For those programs who are awaiting pics of the V2.0 Flashback Flynn jacket, it should be here by Wednesday. I'll post some right away. I'm also planning to post the design file here, with any corrections that need to be made based on the final product that comes to my door. That way if you guys order one, you will not have the flaws that show up on V2.0, though I think it should be good. I'm confident the kinks got worked out in V1.0. lol



As for the siren....Agreed. Reflective tape, but I can't say I agree that it looks awesome.

Sure it might have been good in person, but part of the fun of this kind of stuff is looking back at the pics and remembering how great it looked. All you can see is a white blob in the pics. ShogunVader, on the other hand, has a good level of brightness. Its shows well in pics and looks lit up. I think you have to be careful with reflective tape as it can get too reflective.

The same over driven light effect with the Siren's reflective tape going on here happened with Kit's Siren suit when ppl took pics of her with their Iphone 4 flash on. She was glowing to high hell :P We kept trying over and over and the phone couldn't get one decent looking pic with her reflective tape.

This disney siren was using the same 'fabric reflective tape' as kit. This picture was taken with camera phone and most camera phones have the same problem of washing out everything.

Its why I love a particular version of reflective tape. It doesn't wash out every one, and has enough reflective qualities to fool people into thinking it actually glows. The tape is super flexible but can only be adhered on instead of sewn, so its not washable. But hey at a fraction of illuminating strips, i can easily replace and not cry if it gets damage. Plus no soldering or risk of electrocution like compass during tron premiere back in december.

I'm really proud of the jacket (even though I want more detailed line), because so many have asked me where I bought the jacket. And its like I made it. I know its compliment when something looks so cool that people thought I bought it, but I made it :P

Unfortunately at elecTRONic there was a lot of blue light that made my clu jacket look orange to the naked eye. I'm currently making another jacket and will be posting development shots in the next few days.

For her, tape $9, jacket $10, square yard of nylon fabric $7, looking as cool as clu $priceless.

Only with a camera with controlled setting can you get the image to look right.

Also I was at a charity event, and I won a white Kevin Flynn disc. The irony was that I was wearing my tron jacket (the only guy wearing tron anything so it looked rigged when I won). Kit is my witness I really did win it fair and square.

This one works....for now. Apparently Disney came down pretty hard on the person who uploaded it, which only leads to more questions. Disney is pretty hard on fanworks, but probably even rougher with leaks.

Looks like a fan film, a good fan film with CGI and all, but a fan film after all...

Pretty impressive. I can't see why they'd introduce two NEW characters when they invested... oh... an entire FILM to the LAST two new characters.

Hey, I was wearing my Hurley Sam Flynn hoodie! And I'll vouch for you winning it fair and square =)

I'm having trouble finding the style of chef's coat I want, so I don't know what I'm going to do now. Its getting too warm for most jackets,not to mention most stores aren't carrying many right now. Other than lucking out and finding something that'll work at a thrift store, I might be out of luck getting something done by this weekend.

What kind are you looking for? Are you willing to order it, or you need to get it locally?

I'm trying to find a black asymetrical one with snap closures, but I'll go with buttons if I have to. Every one I've found so far has the closures down the middle. I wanted it for this weekend, but I don't think its happening. I'll just order exactly what I want, and go costumeless to Anaheim Comic-con.

Heya guys, first time poster here, week long lurker. :P Been using the various threads around to get an Identity disc modded with more LEDs and to stay always on. Thats more or less complete. Just got a few minor kinks to work out, then we screw it all up and voila. In May I'm going to be Cosplaying as Kevin Flynn at the London MCM Expo but right now I'm having a little bit of a problem with figuring something out. I can't for the life of me find a place that does a coat like the one he wears for this outfit.

Gone all over the place but can't find one like it. I've already got my eye on some EL wire to do the lights on it, but that coat is eluding me. Anyone got any advice?

On another note, the undershirt I have a solution for so it's not urgent but it's not the most idea, so any suggestions for that would be appreciated.

That's becuase it was a custom coat just for the film. You will have to have one made, or make one yourself with a sewing pattern. Its not a complicated coat, just not something you can buy.

You do have some similar options though. Check out Cosplay websites that sell costumes and look for "Bleach" costumes. Alot of the characters have similar looks. You won't find an exact match though. Sorry.

Yeah, I thought it might have been. Was hoping to find something even similar. Though thank you for pointing towards Bleach. I'm a fan of the series but it never occured to me. :P Now... to get to scouring...

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what inverter to use and where to buy it? Is it best to just buy it from the same place you buy the el Tape or are there more cost effective places to get one? Thanks again.

I have a glow hut inverter that I had left over from a panel experiment and Luminous film EL tape. I haven't had any problems with it.

I've been hounding the internets for low cost battery powered inverters and found a ton of places. All the models are identical, so they are probably made by the same manufacturer and just sold by these retailers. I would expect them to all be just fine.
