Has anyone seen a close up of what style of RAF Greatcoat buttons
jack has on his coat in Torchwood?
Most of the ones I see on ePay are army buttons, and there's MANY different styles of British greatcoat buttons available as well (Highlanders, Queens guard, etc.).

You'll be needing Kings crown rather than Queens crown though, and brass rather than staybrite.

You'll need 12 large (front - 30 ligne) and 3 medium (rear belt - 22 ligne).

Any idea what size are the 6 (3 on each of...) the wrist cuffs, and the two on the rank/shoulder boards?
Shoulder boards would be the same as the front (included in my total above) and the cuffs are, most likely, 22 ligne same as the back belt. Couldn't swear to that though as I've not had an officers greatcoat.
since you seem to know a bit about this stuff... the rank stripes on the shoulders... i read somewhere that he doesn't have the right stripes for a captain.shagger999uk said:

Where ARE the buttons on the back belt? All I see is a belt buckle.

He wears a Group Captains (Colonel equivalent) rank stripes whereas as a Captain he should wear a Flight Lieutenants rank. As to the rear belt - my mistake, the belt worn on the Officers is a complete belt, the belt worn on the Other Ranks is a rear belt only.
Having a bit of a tidy up and I have found that I have 4 of the large and 6 of the medium RAF buttons.
Bad news: These are Queens Crown Staybrite rather than Kings Crown brass.
Good news: Free to the first person that asks for them (will need shipping costs though - shouldn't be much).
