Thrall WOW Cosplay

I have always wanted to do this cosplay. I started playing the original warcraft strategy game and Orcs have always been my favorite. This is my fifth costume and I am still a beginner and have never done most of what I am attempting. So advice is welcome.

I am starating with the things I have the least experience with. I am sculpting the mask using plastilIna clay and intend to make a mold with urethane rubber. Completed mask will be silicone. This will be my first silicone mask so I am not real confident with how I'm going to do.

Took a break from the mask to work on the hammer. This is my first prop and I am pretty happy with how it is turning out.

I play alliance before horde but even i was giddy when the page loads and i see that massive picture of Thrall. Good luck with this build, it looks amazing so far.

Painting on the hammer is done. Starting to work on the lighting. Plan is to fill all major cracks with blue led lights and resin.

Wiring the leads together then running wire to a battery source.

Been really busy and frustrated with the time it is taking to wire and add lights. Distracted myself with finishing the wrapping for the handle. I had a goat hide I purchased on sale and was waiting for something to use it on. I hated to cut up the whole hide for a single strip of leather, but I felt I needed the leather.

Fur added to the handle from a thrift store find and some contact cement.

The methods I am using are based on a couple of tutorials I watched for leather wrapping a sword handle and a tennis racket. I soaked the leather in water for 10 minutes then patted it dry with paper towels. I used a thicker hard piece of belt leather underneath the top and bottom of the wrap to create a defined start and stop. I applied contact cement to the handle and slowly and tightly wrapped the leather. I finished by entwining with string. The string presses into the wet leather and creates a texture I like.

I left it to dry for one day then removed the string.

Created an aged look by mixing wood stain and olive oil and rubbing it into the leather.

looking great, take a look at thrall's forhead.... his forhead is higher Frankensteinish with a an hourglass shape also a bit thinner face....please do not think Im criticizing at all...I m not a sculpter just trying to help :)

Thank you for chiming in. I agree with your assessments entirely, and I really like the overall costume design in the artwork above, but the face does not harken back to my memories of what Thrall looks like. I am trying to match more of an in game look, but utilizing a lot of artistic license to create something that will fit my face and look realistic.

I agree 100% that the photo is different than the game version. and with that being said knowing what you are going for changes everything. you may want to grab a screen shot... I couldn't quite figure out what was off. I would flatten and broaden the nose a bit and elongate the mouth outward. The look reminds me of planet of the apes . Just my 2 cents
