The vest is 100% custom, I have never seen a tac vest like that ever. The only thing I think on it that isnt custom is the shoulder straps which look like they came from a Alice pack straps. Last edited by Rdmaul; 12-21-2011 at 10:33 AM. |

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
The Swedish coat from page 1 looks close but I think it was either altered heavily or Lindy Hemming just copied it and made her own version. Here are some good pics of Bane's coat:
![]() ![]() ![]() I haven't found any pictures of the M1909 jacket that is brown with the white fur behind the collar. There are some on ebay right now and they all have brown fur on the collar. The shape of the collar where it meets the jacket also seems to have been altered. The cuffs to me on Bane's jacket seem very different also. |

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
Isn't that the same type of coat Bruce Willis wore in 12 Monkeys, and Colonel 'whatis' in Enemy At The Gates?
The shirt on page 1 kind of looks like a 5.11 MultiCam TDU Rapid Assault Shirt. Some differences though. Last edited by terryr; 12-22-2011 at 12:51 AM. |

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
I'm starting to get materials together to try my hand at a Bane costume. I bought the pants from ebairsoft EbairSoft Airsoft parts & Tactical Gear - G Emerson CP Gen2 style Tactical Pants ( Black ) EME09 They fit well, but if you go with them I would suggest buying a size bigger than you normally wear so they fit loose as in the movie. Also I think if you move the big cargo pocket from the side to the front they would look pretty close to the gen 1 pants.

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
Guys, those aren't Vietnam jungle boots. Jungle boots had the grommet/eyelets. Those are modern/pre-desert, standard issue black leather boots. Look at the "eyelet" (for lack of a better word). You can see where the black paint has rubbed off the rivet holding on the lace eyelet, revealing the brass underneath. If I had a dollar for everytime I had to put Emnu on those damn things, I'd be a millionaire. That's not saying he doesn't use jungle boots in the movie, but the pictures above show the all-leather issue boots.

It also seems that the straps are a small web pistol belt:
![]() And the clips are the strap latches on the old ALICE gear ruck sack. ![]() Hope that helps. Wes |

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
The boots are custom designer I am guessing But jungle boots are going to be about the closest things unless you want to custom make boots. I am actually going to dremel the sole down to flat and make custom straps for the Jungle boots, and obiously weather them to look that graysih brown color.
Thad- it has been a long time, Ill shoot you a email

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
not really related directly, but I wish they'd gotten a bigger guy to do Bane, it seemed like part of the point of his character was to be huge, and this guy really just isn't... even from the standpoint these movies are taking which is "kinda realistic"
ah well, just mho! |

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
Check these out. Another thread mentioned the site and I looked at the boots. Very close, or maybe a match;
USMC M1951 Combat Boots USMC M1951 Combat Boots ![]() EDIT: there's a beat up pair on Ebay that look the same as Banes. Sold in June 2011, so maybe they are Banes. Last edited by terryr; 01-23-2012 at 06:55 PM. |

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
Terry,
I don't think those are a match. Again, look at the brass rivets on Bane's boots. The boots you show have eyelets all the way up. I could be completely wrong, but I don't believe I am. The soles on the issue boots can wear pretty quickly, and I honestly think them to be the ones Bane wears. Wes |

Re: TDKR- The Definitive Bane Costume Thread...
Hmmm.... The sole looks like the bottom of my old Army issue Engineer boots...And the straps on his "H harness" are from old ALICE gear. The base straps look to be old Pistol Belts and the over strap looks to be M1956 suspenders.

The way the heel overwraps around the sides excludes everything we've tried so far.

That could be an added piece like the strap over the tongue.

I think the boots are either the new issue USMC sage boots or they remind me of the air force green boots that are black washed in oil.
