Aug 28, 2012 - TDKR Bane Mask Tutorial,etc? #1

Hey guys, does anyone know of any GOOD Bane mask tutorials? I can't seem to find a "decently" accurate guide to making one. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate, I just don't want it to look like it's made out of marshmallows or something like a few I've seen.

Any help, or just hints in the right direction would be very much appreciated!

In the RPF FAQ: ( the RPF - FAQ: Reading and Posting Messages )
How do I attach a file to a post?

To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread.

On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page. Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page.

To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window. You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

What files types can I use? How large can attachments be?

In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes. Files that are larger than these sizes will be rejected. There may also be an overall quota limit to the number of attachments you can post to the board.

How do I add an image to a post?

If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too.

That looks like an excellent pattern; thank you for sharing!

Is there an additional wedge piece for the back, or am I not looking at this right?
What method did you use to fuse the pieces? It looks very smooth.

Its a one piece mask. you can cut the foam until it fits your head. so it can be a slip on and slip off mask. hehe.

That looks fantastic. What thicknesses of foam have you used so far?

Can't wait to see it all finished up.

Is someone able to recreate that pattern as a "cut-out" file?
I know turning this into a pep file is too much to ask for.

Still hope theres someone out there doing it atm.

Just use the first image j0we posted as a reference. It's a straight on shot and accomplishes exactly what you're looking for. I don't know why anyone needs to spend any extra time creating a line art version.

Thanks for sharing j0we! I just convinced a buddy of mine to be Bane for halloween...as long as I can make the costume. This'll save me a LOT of patterning time.

Since you gave us permission to use your pattern, I took the liberty to work on that first picture and make it a "printable" version ( not much color etc.)

2 minute work, figured some people still might want it.

If it ain΄t ok with you, Ericqueen, I remove it as quickly as I can. All credit goes to you!

Heres a link to the pattern:

Imageshack - banemaskpattern.jpg

You still have to scale it to an appropriate size, of course.
