My nephew wanted to be a TARDIS last Halloween, but I couldn't get it built out in time. Since he'll be joining me at Comic-Con this year, I told him that we would create the costume for him. Got the idea because he took an old foldable laundry basket and had been using that as his "TARDIS" while running around the house.
With the awesome help of my brother-in-law (who's learning all about costume making and having the time of his life) we were able to get the entire structure built.
We wanted to keep it simple and lightweight since my nephew will be walking around in this on Sunday. He's so adorable.
Materials were very simple: my old laundry basket used as the base frame, EVA Foam roll, a roll of craft foam, and hot glue.
