    Nov 20, 2010 - Stormtrooper Armour #1

Hi, hope it's ok to post this question here.

I won't link to the auction directly.

I've been looking for Stormtrooper Armour for a while now. I've noticed someone on Ebay selling it as 'Stormtrooper Armour Kit Halloween Fancy Dress'
He obviously sells quite a lot of this stuff.

Has anybody on here any experience of the suit he is selling?
    Quality, accuracy, durability etc.

I don't want it to wear particularly, just to put on a mannequin, but i'd like it to be durable.

Any help you guys can give would be great as this seems like a pretty cost effective option. They regularly seem to go for under £200.

    Thanks

    Al

    Quality \ Durability:
its ABS so it will stand up to damn near anything you throw at it.

    Accuracy
the helmet is all sorts of wrong... just to start.
It looks like FX to me which can be approved by the 501st but its not screen quality accurate.

Honestly its really up to you. "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
at minimum, i would get a different helmet - as that one looks, wrong.

Many thanks for the replies. I also has a few PM's and everyone is saying the same thing. I really don't know how you guys can tell, just by looking at a few blurry photos. I must say, the suit didn't look quite right to me, but I couldn't say why.

I reckon i'll pass on this one & look for a better one. Can anyone give me a rough idea of what a decent, movie accurate suit will cost. I assume a self build up would be cheaper, & i'm happy to do that if I have access to decent instructions.

    Thanks again folks.

From my info gathering a few years ago it ranged from $550 if you were damn lucky to $800-$1100 for the good stuff. Unsure what the prices are about now.

    Beware of the recast armor.

ATA is reasonably priced, screen accurate and available after some research on the FISD (first imperial stormtrooper detachment). It's a kit that you'd have to put together though.
