I am just breaking into the Spider-Man Replica costumes and having fun with what is happening. I am putting together a 2012 Scarlet Spider Costume for NYC's Comic-Con in October. I'm pretty much focusing on doing the sewing aspect but I wanted to post my pictures of the items I am using as I go.

Thanks all the credit has to go to carl 9149 for the pattern, but I should have the lenses here pretty soon.
Here are the lenses. You will see they have a very thin black frame which will blend with the black fabric of the mask so the lens will float red.
I'm very happy with how these turned out, what do you guys think?

I'm just concered that they are not dark enough? So if anyone thinks they can make ones closer to the print I'd be interested in what you have to say.
So your pictures of the lenses aren't showing up for me, and I've tried to look at them on multiple devices. Any chance you could re-upload those? I'm actually planning to make a Scarlet Spider build eventually as well and I'm really wondering how I'll do the eyes.

Yeah ill set up a photobucket tonight, i noticed that they dont load on phones and what not but on my computer they do.
Nice work man!!! Love the frames. I haven't seen that style of eye shape anywhere, thinking the new scarlet spider is gonna be my next suit, such a great character.

Oh wow yeah! Those eyes look awesome! Is that fabric covering them? How's the visibility? I would love some details on how you made them. I'm pretty inexperienced and have been getting kind of obsessed lately, there's just so many techniques and materials that people use for this stuff.
I'll talk to my buddy about how he made them and post details here soon. You can pretty much show him any lense you want and he can make it.
So yes the visability is fantastic, lenses are just a urethane border and wire mesh is glued on, and then a thin layer of flexible but durably red plastic to give it a glossy look is glued on
So it's a solid translucent sheet of red plastic glued on top of a wire mesh? Nice. I wouldn't have guessed that by looking at it.
I'm guessing he cast the urethane from a mold he made himself? Any idea how he made the master mold? Was it clay? I've been thinking about this, and have been thinking I'd do it this way, but just not sure how to make the initial mold.
Is the urethane flexible? Like, is it easy to bend it to fit to your head?
Yes its very flexible and ill text him today to see if he can give a step by step instruction.

Awesome man thanks! I've got several Spidey builds planned and really want to play around with different eye frame styles.
Ok heres some more images of the lenses. I asked my lense guy if he could give a step by step but unfortuanatly he sells these on ebay and doesn't use the rpf so he doesn't want to give away his methods. He did however say I can post as many pics as I want so you can kind of see what he does.
