Star Trek XI Uniform shirts

Got Maul,
have you had a chance to purchase and study the fabric swatches on the 'prop cards' that are on ebay right now? If it is possible to remove the fabric from the card, that may give you a better idea of what weight fabric you will need.
Right from the gate, I am going to want a gold command and a red ladies uniform but would also be interested in a blue and a red men's.
We still have some time to try and identify the jeans - def looks like a motorcycle denim pant from one of the pics I have but still could be custom.
Also - are you trying to do the logo pin in metal or plastic?? I would be good either way as long as the plastic is coated with an authentic metallic finish.

If it's off the shelf denim motorcyle pants as we have been told, then it's either a style that hasn't been made in a while, or it comes from an alternate parallel universe, because I'm not believing these pants can exist and yet not be cataloged by Google.

Looking at both High res pictures kindly provided by Bantha and Nickytea, it looks to me like the pants differ slightly between the hero and the background costumes. That might suggest that they are NOT off the shelf, but made specially for the film. I really find it strange that the DKNY boots are completely sold out worldwide. It's as if the Star Trek costume designer bought up the entire supply of the boots!

If you notice these boots are Puma's...they've got the trade mark "swoosh" in the leather, and the Puma logo on the strap.

(I know the other high rez photos have the DKNY boots)

Looking at that pic I also believe the pants are canvas, not denim.

Yep...Pumas...and, as I said before, not as HIGH as the hero boots. Im glad someone finally found a pic to back me up.

I just searched through hundreds of ugly Puma designs and didn't see anything resembling the picture. Nothing with a velcro strapped spat covering the laces.

I think it's a conspiracy. Someone erased all knowledge of the existence of these shoes from Google.

Looking closer at the pants I had the same thought that they might be canvas instead of denim. Either way, I found nothing on Google. I'm starting to think the pants were inspired by motorcycle pants, but custom made.

Found the Puma boots. Puma Moto 500 mid cut motorcycle boot. Laces removed. I've found three pairs for sale in grey, black, and brown. They're just pretty much gone by now unfortunately.

any body has pictures of the belt with the holsters for the phaser, communicator, and tricorder.

If someone will be able to make this happen, I'm in for a the men's shirt in any color and the women's dress in red. Only problem is: I'll need them by the beginning of July.

Are there any updates on the projects in progress?

Those boots are actually pretty cool. Even if they weren't a Star Trek related, I think I'd want them now.

Maybe we should deluge PUMA with requests. They are missing an opportunity here. NOBODY seems to have them and since they arent in PUMAS catalog I have to assume they are old stock and OOP.

Designers frequently do that, they did not buy all of them as I was able to get a pair.

Remember the movie was shot last year, so you will have a hard time now finding a pair.

Who exactly wears those boots in the movie though? From all shots of Kirk and Spock I can see, they appear to be wearing much taller boots.

Holy crap! It is starting to look like a basic ST XI Starfleet officer's uniform is going to run us a minimum of $1000.00. And that is being conservative on the price of a SA shirt and discontinued parts replaced with "close enoughs!"

I may just have to pass on this costume!

Has anyone actually SEEN one of the Kellogg Trek promo shirts that they're giving away IRL? I've searched eBay and Google. Aside from numerous mentions that they are giving them away, I can't find anyone that has actually RECIEVED one. Just curious about the quality.

Purchased a pair of the Pumas as well...let you know if they show up or not...heh

Ordered a shirt within days of the boxes hitting shelves... it's still listed as being processed. At least the Kellogg's site has that feature, even if it's taking them months to ship out these damn shirts.

Here are pics of some mods I did to my Rubies Deluxe. I removed the sewed on dickie and redid the collar with some gold satin as well as sewing on a strip of gold satin to separate the main body from the sleeves. I also reduced the width of the sleeves a bit (it was very baggy out of the box). The insignia is one of TK648/Naked Mole Rat's which I've painted chrome. I carefully hot glued it over the embroided insignia that was originally on the Rubies.

The undershirt in the pic is just a regular black round neck tee.

The rank stripes are still the default Rubies until I can find the chrome/silver iron on ones used in the movie.


Despite the changes, I still don't like the fit. But this is just a stopgap until we get better offerings.
