Wow, been a long time since I have seen a Sandtrooper look this good. Nice and dirty.
I have to agree. That is some very well done sandy weathering you have on that. I've just started trimming out my TE and going the Sandtrooper route as well, can you let us know what materials and methods you used?
Thanks.
Woah! That is really, really nice. I like the truly beat up (not just paint) feel everything has. Quite authentic. Good Job!
Great weathering!! Did you use acrylics or the woodland scenics/hairspray method? You really have the whole thing nailed down!
Steve
The weathering on that suit looks really wind- and sandblown... and you wear it well!![]()
Beautiful
Those filthy sandies have always been my favourite stormies.
Fantastic attention to detail.
Cheers Chris.
What a filthy uniform! Report to the barracks at once and get cleaned up. You're a disgrace to the Empire.
Just kidding, looks fantastic.

That looks amazing Chazz!!!! Man I can't wait to get started on my sandy. Soon....
I would love to hear more about that weathering. It looks fantastic.
For the weathering i used Acrylic paints you find at wal-martI know alot of guys on the MEPD use fullers earth, But i kind of like the way the acrylics came out also there is no need to hair spray over your work. It drys well and stays on Unless you wipe it down with warm water. I also applied them with sponge brushes.
Here are the colors used. If anyone needs a tutorial on how i did it feel free to PM me or ask questions =)

Best looking Sandtrooper I've seen, Awesome work!!
yet another sandtrooper, i love it ..... the more the merrier....excellent job on the weathering
Chazz,
Are you concerned about rain and your paint? I'm not sure how well the paint adheres to the plastic, so it may be a non issue. Would a thin top coat take any risk of loosing any weathering in rain away?
Also can you list the colors and possibly a quick tutorial? I’ve got my TD bucket, so perhaps I will start to put that together (If I can figure out how to make a FX Stunt helmet) and weather it while I wait on the rest of the armor.
Thanks man.

Excellent work... looks wonderful. Looks like you have all the details spot on.
excellent news. I wasn't sure how well it stuck to the plastic. I have painted in acrylics, so I do know they can be easily washed with warm water (particularly light shades) and or scratched off. I would hate for that sweet weathering to be damaged (if weathering can be damaged...)
I used acrylics on mine, but i have not worn it out in the rain yet...was there rain on tatoonie? lol
That's encouraging! I'm virtually at the door of weathering my own Sandy and have been getting the (you should be using fullers earth/woodland scenics) vibe. I'm always more partial to acrylic and I can paint with it very well. Seeing your weathering job just put my mind at ease as it turned out fantastic!
Steve
If there is one thing i have learned from this project, the more damage done the better it looks!
Thats a good question... it had to have rained at some point for that armor to get that dirty or maybe just sandstorms.....
I'm glad i could be of some help i also had the same view on the fullers i wanted to walk the road less traveled as they say. =) But i will say I think fullers maybe the better for the Backpack.
The acrylics dont show well on the black and blue used for my pack..Could be the colors i used IDK for sure.
