RS Prop Masters ANH stomtrooper build: 2 sets of armor: 1 full PVC kit+helmet, 1 ABS

Watch this space for my upcoming build thread of 2 sets of RS Prop Masters stormtrooper armor. I sold my beloved TM for these...

Thanks to Simon and Rob for offering these bundles of sheer awesomeness! And another big thank you for their customer service, way to go guys!

One suit (shiny, shiny PVC) is gonna be for trooping/costuming, and the other one (correct shade of gloss ABS like Simon's original suit) will just be a replica suit for display (or maybe special trooping occasions!).

Here's 2 pics from after unpacking my (very well and safely packed) boxes:

Both suits will have fully prop/costume accurate internal strapping.
For the replica ABS suit I plan on acquiring a khaki colored base helmet that will then be spray painted as per the original "stunt"/background helmets.

Not shown are the replica belts I also ordered, I'll post pics when I have those in hand.

The PVC suit will be the first I'll assemble.

Have I mentioned how awesome these kits are? Just wow.

Here's the PVC helmet, ready for paint:

I'm going to fully finish the helmet first, paint and weathering and all that, and then build the PVC suit after that in one go.
PVC is a lot trickier to trim and fit than ABS, but it is so extremely sturdy and crazy flexy that it'll be well worth the extra effort.

Here's the PVC helmet, painted and still pristine and shiny. I'm not yet sure if I'll make this a beat up, weathered helmet (the most bad-***** look for ANH) or if I will leave it as "fresh out of the costume department" as it is now.

Next up: torso, then arm&leg parts.

The RS are indeed very special, having looked at the PVC suit up close at the recent Prop Party they are total awsomeness and im very jealous of your aquisition's

both Si and Rob are top guys, no ego about them at all which is amazing really considering what they have in their posession, iv'e seen so many so called Experts over the year's that let their ego take over what they actually have in their Possession, these 2 have a genuine love for the hobby and their creation.

I was lucky enough to grab their very first Sandtrooper Helmet which at the moment sits on top of a mennequin im putting together but will ultimately find its way top of the pile in my display cabinet.

Today I finished the torso of the PVC suit with accurate internal strapping as per Simon's original suit/the archive suits.

I have not yet painted the rivets, screws or ab buttons.

This build is soooo much fun, I'm really enjoying putting this one together.

Next up: painting the torso details, then assembling the arm parts.

It's a cup I was given last year (it had a CLONE WARS tag tied to the handle and it was filled with candy in chrome foil), a buddy bought it for me in the US of A. It is, viewed from a stormtrooper accuracy nut's perspective, an abomination from hell.

But hey, gifts... so it found it's way into my helmet line-up shelves and now stores hovi mic tips and other small bits&bobs.

But yeah...RS Prop Masters stormtrooper armor, anyone?

That is beautiful! I would eventually love to get one of these as I'm sure they're outta my price range at the moment. But I also have no idea how to get one anyway. Oh well, great progress!
