Eveningarwen, you can enter for yourself, but your fiancee (congrats ) would need to register to enter his costume. If he registers, it doesn't matter that he didn't make his own costume, only that he is wearing it.

I know this was asked but I didn't see an answer....My fiance and I are a couple costume and I'd love to enter his in the male contestant and mine in the female.....can I do that under my registration or does he need to join and submit it himself? Would he need to be the one that made the costume or is it ok that I made both.

uhhhhh... i didn't see the 'proof' photo thing!!!! can i still hold up a sign / have rpf in the background and be holding up the costume or something??? my bf and i are done wearing them for the weekend!

Still debating if I'm going to enter mine. I was really jazzed about it, but I was putting some finishing touches on mine before a party yesterday and my sewing machine jammed. It's working now, but we were forced to rush to get everything hemmed in time for the party. Instead of elastic in the wrists, they were pinned to fit, and my pants had a duct-tape hem. I went with the collar only partly done. I don't know if I'll have time to finish those repairs, suit up and do makeup, and get the pics by the deadline. Also, my wig and makeup didn't turn out like I was expecting. If I can't make some improvements, the overall look is kind of disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely proud of the actual sewing I did on the costume, but I don't know if I can make it contest-worthy or not.

Since the membership is going to vote to determine the winners, the plan is for you to see them all.

It was hard to choose my favorite pic! Also, most of the best ones of halloween shenanigans don't really show off the whole costume...

That will be fine. If you can just post a pic of you holding a piece of your costume. The "proof" photos don't need to be elaborate. The purpose is just to try to thwart anyone from just grabbing a random costume photo off the internet and claiming it as their costume entry.

Oh great!!! thanks for getting back to me regarding this. Was waiting to hear from you before I sent my costume submission in.

I will take a pic of me 2nite holding my costume in my hands with an RPF sign as well and send that in as my 'proof' pic.

Totally missed this so wouldn't have a "proof" photo. Oh well. I kind of skimped on the SA part.

I entered for the heck of it...you better not need my proof pic Art, you saw it in person...

I don't know Robb... that could be virtually ANYONE dressed up as Strawberry Shortcake!

Please see our first post in this thread for an update regarding the scaling of images that are being sent in.

Any idea on the size they will be scaled to?

Probably 800X600 or smaller. Something along those lines. We have a LOT of entries and that is going to mean lots and lots of scrolling!

You can, but only one image can be used for the contest. I am assuming we are going to have quite a number of entrants, and for voting purposes, we are going to post just one image of each entrant along with a number and have people vote based on that. However, if you have a cool costume you want to show off, don't limit it to just the contest, show us what you have and your hard work with a thread for your costume!

Would posting a thread showing the details of the costume before the master post showing all the entries be considered inappropriate?

Seriously though, can't wait to see everyones entries! I just went in my TK that is still lacking in the "good enough for RPF" dept. so I will watch from the sidelines.

Looking forward to seeing all the diversity of costumes and talent the RPF has to offer

I got home yesterday for a 3 day pass and got to take some sweet pics of my sons costume. But, like a ******* I forgot to take the "RPF" image. Gotta go get that done. ;-)

Just sent my son's photos in. He's pretty jazzed about this contest.
