UPDATE:
We are getting in a LOT of great costumes! Some beautiful, some terrifying, some humorous and some just as cute as can be! Because the images being sent in are virtually every size, we are going to try to scale all to a standardized size for the contest. We will try to do this as fairly as possible and not actually alter the image you sent in, but I did want to put it out there, that all images will be scaled to a uniform size.

Hello all and welcome to our first annual Halloween Costume contest!
One of the coolest aspects of this site is the incredible costumes (and props) built and worn by our members! From Halo to Hellboy, Iron Man to Indiana Jones, and the American Dream to Aeon Flux our members have some of the BEST costumes out there!
While most of us costume more or less all year round, Halloween is the perfect opportunity to show off your costume and possibly win prizes!
We will have three categories with a first place winner for each category as well as 2 honorable mentions in each category.
The categories are:
- Females in costume
- Males in costume
- Kids (12 and under) in costume
Why are we breaking the categories down in such a seemingly "sexist" manner? Because if we didn't, you guys wouldn't stand a chance against the girls!Seriously, one of the biggest complaints in costume contests is that the most scantily clad female always wins the contest so we are avoiding that by splitting the contest between the guys and the girls. We have also added a childrens category to help encourage our 2nd generation RPFers and to ensure our love for props and costumes is passed on to that next generation.
Terms and Conditions - PLEASE READ AS NOT FOLLOWING THESE TERMS MAY DISQUALIFY YOU FROM BEING ENTERED INTO THE CONTEST!
You MUST be a registered member of therpf.com! If you are not a registered member, your entry will be disqualified! Click this link to register.
You may enter 1 time per contest by performing the tasks listed below.
Entry Submission
Email us at promo@therpf.com with "2010 Halloween Contest" as the subject line.
Include the following in your email:
- Your board name
- The name of your character/costume and what it is from example: "Batman from The Dark Knight"
- What category you are entering (men, women, children)
- A good, clear photo of your costume that will be posted publicly on the site.
- A second photo that is "proof" it is your costume in order to dissuade those who might simply submit a random photo from off the internet. The "proof" photo needs to be you, in costume, with either a sheet of paper that says "The RPF Costume Contest" or a photo of you in costume with your computer in the background with the RPF up on the computer. This is a very important step, so make sure to include your "proof" photo when entering!
How are winners determined?
We will accept entries through Nov 5 (so you have time to submit your Halloween photos).
On Nov 8, we will create 3 polls which will include the entrants (by photo, not name) and have the members vote on the winners through Nov 11. Winners will be announced on Nov 12.
What are the prizes?
