Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi
Merry Christmas everyone!!
Man, i got stuck with the foam build, irealy tryed to build the helmet with foam but i´m to stupid with that i think. i dont know if the pep/foam files are to big (scale) for me or if i´m to stupid for bring the parts together. i figured out that some of the pieces have to have a 45° cut bevor glue them together but what pieces has to have this 45° cut. please can somebody explain!?!? Cause the material (foam) is so expensive for just try and error... and could you tell me how to finish the product when it´s done? i mean, a finished helmet, and then.... just plasti dip or something else, how to paint or what ever.... my english is not that good so sometimes i have some problems to find out what are you guys talking about in all that treads and posts. Thank you guys Tom |

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi
You must constantly reference the pep program while you are building your piece. If you notice that 2 connecting pieces run smoothly into eachother then u do not require a 45 degree cut. If u notice the 2 connecting pieces have a corner then you require the 45 degree edge.. I advise only doing the 45 degree cut on one of the edges thought... unless the connecting corner is approximately 90 degrees average the do a 45 degree cut on both connecting edges. Please notice there are occasions where 2 edges bevel outwards rather than inwards. This is rare. But does occur. I cant explain a particular occasion off hand, but you will know it when you see it. Just constantly reference the pep program and use a bit of logic. I also suggest cutting certain parts slightly longer than the part they connect to so you can glue them underneath, creating a lip. Reference the silver parts on the biseps.

Thanks man, took me a lot of time to get there x) Any pics of your helm ?
I think i'll go with stealth pva glue methode, i don't want to spend to much on a suit i will wear only one or two times in a year. I did it mainly for fun and hope you'll do as well. Last edited by MrBibou; 12-29-2011 at 08:20 AM. |

I think the 2 lb would be fine.
Do you have an Academy Sports and Outdoor? they have the same foam for the same price |

never heard of academy sports lol. We have a bunch of gun shops. Shooting ranges and courses. A few different race tracks. One week a year they close down a mile radius to make a race track. For Indy 500 road race type. There is a few bike shops left. Not many. I live in a retirement type town. I
all we do is race and shoot some paper...skating boarding bikes... All illegal on the sidewalks here. We get tickets carrying a skateboard in some areas. |

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi
Here are some progress by the way.
Just finish the gauntlets and it wasn't easy, mainly because they are compose of small pieces and that I had to cut the foam to decrease the thickness. I like when it fits nice a clean ![]() Here's some pics : ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And finally.. THE SUIT IS DONE !!! Now, let's slap some paint on it

I'm the same height as you, but i'm thin and have long arms and legs. I'm concerned about the costume being too short if i shrink the arms and legs. Might be a strange question, but how long are your arms....armpit to elbow bend, and elbow to wrist? It would help me to see if it would still fit me well. Thanks |

![]() Armpit to elbow : 11 inches Elbow to wrist : 9.8 inches I'm actually 141.09 lbs so i'm pretty fit for my height too. I would still recommend you to decrease the scale of the original files. The biceps came out way too big and the rescale version was even a little too wide for me, I had to add extra layers inside so it would fit properly. Guess Iron Man has big biceps ![]() Or maybe mine are small
