I received a lot of praise for my Red Hood helmet at WonderCon2013. The whole experience gave me a lot of confidence in making more builds. As soon as I read Red Hood And The Outlaws #16 I had an idea. I loved the cover so much I figured why not make the helmet?
This is the cover without the text. Looks hard but with enough work and determination I think I can pull it off.
Using the file I bought from BlackKaos I set to work. I began applying the fiberglass resin. After applying the resin I applied fiberglass cloth on the inside to make it more sturdy. Once cured I used a sharpie to draw where I was going to cut the helmet to make the smile and the eye hole.
Using an xacto knife I started cutting the areas I drew with the sharpie. Of course it would have been easier had I done that before the resin and fiberglass stage :facepalm
I'll post up updates as I go. Any feedback is appreciated.
