I can tell you, without the majority of this costume being found items, I wouldn't even be bothering with it.
Wanted to show the navy and the charcoal 5.11 tactial pant. Now, these are the taclite, not the originals, so I have to send them back, but I am assuming the color is going to be about the same. Mirax says undoubtably Royce is wearing a weathered version of the charcoal pant. I think she is right, but I am still struggling with whether or not he is wearing the Navy pant in some of the early photos. Now Hot Toys isn't the pennicle of accuracy, but they do a good job, and even they have Royce in navy pants...

I am thinking some of the issue is color casting between the two photos because it is the same Condor vest in both photos.

I see charcoal, weathered, for what it's worth. All the dirt on him everywhere? I'd say dirty gray is more consistent with how they weathered everything than faded black.
Thanks bud. As soon as I send these back and pick up the right model, I am going to go with charcoal and then look into the best way to add some of the black weathering. Not sure if airbrush would be best or something else.
Bates 8" Tactical Sport Side Zip Boots came in today. Bought them from Zappos (see link on page 2 of this thread). Spot on! One more piece of this costume done.

Now... to take these brand new, $100 boots out and rough them up... sigh... :unsure

My next step is the Tops...very diffucult and very expensive to import
Iam collecting items since the movie was released about a year ago. My first item was the shemagh, then the Giros, the pouches, the belt, the vest, the boots, the holder, the replacement buckles, plus I made my own hemp; my next choice will be the Tops knife.

Wait...those are the correct boots? Too funny! I bought a pair of those exact boots to wear in the winter 2 winters ago and have worn them daily to work over the last couple winters. Mine still have a lot of tread left and the toes are already fully beat up from using them to open cabinets with at work. Honest truth, today was the very first day in 2011 that I did not wear those to work. :lol

That's the advantage of this costume. You can wear the boots on the street, unlike let's say, Superman boots.

Trying to exchange my holster and I just got off the phone with Opticsplanet. They actually told me they don't carry the Coyote Tan holster only black. Did you get your holster there and if so would you mind posting the actual SKU Number that you ordered.
This is more difficult than I thought hunting down the holster.
I am trying to find alternate places to order but am having a heck of a time so far.
