Re: The PEPAKURA question thread - PLEASE READ RULES IN FIRST POST!
Question on using/sanding bondo...
I keep getting these pockets when I use Bondo and sanding. So I will apply a layer of bondo... begin sanding and I find these little pockets. Any suggestions on how to avoid that? or how to fill them? I've been filling with more bondo. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Do thinner layers and use the scuff paste afterwards, it's like a much smoother finish bondo

Re: The PEPAKURA question thread - PLEASE READ RULES IN FIRST POST!
also, dont bondo the whole thing everytime
if you have pockets, fill those, then sand this will allways result in smaller holes, untill there are no more holes. i sanded my cap shield only with bondo and it is freakishly smooth

Any chance that the links in the first post could get fixed? Most of them take you to the hacker's mirror site. I tried to post something after looking through Stealth's foam tut that is linked here, and realized that I was on the wrong side when it told me I wasn't signed in.

Re: The PEPAKURA question thread - PLEASE READ RULES IN FIRST POST!
Hello all, quick question. I tried doing a search for this but turned up no results so I apologized if its been asked. Is there a portable app version of Pepakura? I don't have a printer at home. I could lug the laptop to Kinkos/Fed Ex but easier to just install one to my portable drive. Thanks in advance

![]() If you don't have that option however, you'll need to download a PDF converter. |

Just FYI, Megaupload.com has been taken down and all of the people in charge have been arrested. Anyone who had PDO/PDF files hosted there is going to have to find another place to store them.

Hello Guys; I found a cool gadget at Walmart, for us the ones that we don't have access to a compressor or if we are using spray cans this is awesome, you can handle the spray cans easily and have better movement and less mess or save some money on gloves....
Take a look at it... Walmart.com: Rust-Oleum Economy Spray Grip: Paint & Home Decor |

now, look wherethe highest point of the chest armor is on masterchief. thats your measuring point on yourself. it might be somewhere around lower neck or something then check the lowest point on master chief. now find that point on you. now you have 2 measuring points, that will give you the height of your chest piece ![]() add 1 or 2 inches, so you have enough space for padding, and its done

Using Pepakura
So I was speaking to a fellow member here about using his peparaku files and he said that you can alter the size on files. I thought it was only possible for the fully paid version. Being a noob I couldn't find the option in the program for it. Videos on Youtube showed non existant options on the free version. Could someone please show me how to scale a file?

Re: Using Peparaku
I think you've gotta have Pepakura Designer. I had the same problem myself when I started my first pep build the other day.
I now have a helmet that's only about 70% of the size it should be

Re: Using Peparaku
I can tell you both how to do that. You have to have the file unfolded first. Then you go to "2D Menu" page down and go to "Change Scale." Enter your desired size and click "OK".

Solochaser...
The only way that you can size it is if you have the complete version of designer...send me a PM and I will give you something that will help you... |

Re: The PEPAKURA question thread - PLEASE READ RULES IN FIRST POST!
Hey Peps!!!
I just wanted to pass along some information I found with the help of Shadowman...the product name is Gesso, this product can be applied to seal your foam costume (not to make it hard, use plasti-dip for that), anyways in other words it works like Bondo for foam, it is applied by brush and can be sanded to give the foam a better finish, they used this product back in the day to make canvas have a better texture to be painted on...Also it is flexible, tons of old masterpieces were rolled and put away and the paint still good with no cracks on them... Thanks Shadowman fro bringing this up on his thread... Cheers brothers!!!! |
