New Vegas NCR Veteran Ranger Build

Forearm and hand armour are designed in AutoCAD then are cut out of styrene. The pieces are then formed using a heat gun, and dents are added; fiberglass will be applied later.

Camera box receives a layer of Bondo in order to give it a uniform surface that would be ready to receive paint after it has been sanded smooth.

All of the belts are now completed and attached.

I'm quite sure you and I used the same antennae, lol.

I just used a saw to shorten mine, bondoed, and re-painted.

Looks great so far, keep up the good work!
I'll have to try that out, I picked it up on ebay for about $2 from Hong Kong, so I didn't know what to expect when it arrived. A little bit of Bondo could mend a broken heart.

The antennae does seem a little bit thick, but it doesn't take away from the over-all look at all.
Hm, I'll have to see how it looks when the helmet is complete. I'm running out of time fast for San Diego Comic Con, so if I need to replace it it will be one of the first things I'll upgrade :)

Using styrene, the air filter is constructed. Styrene is layered inside of the filter to give it the banded look on the windowed interior.

After the air filter is assembled, it is attached to the side of the mask.

I won't be able to update until Wednesday, going down to Phoenix for the MLB All-Star Game :)

Current update, the mask and helmet are now 100% complete, armour is now 100% complete, all I have left is the duster and to paint the hard parts.

I get back from Phoenix tomorrow :)

what are you going to use as the base for your Anti-Material rifle? I was thinking of using this for my main weapon. http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/c/c4/LMGRend.png
Pretty close to this http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/c/c4/LMGRend.png
I'll do the Anti-Materiel rifle in time. The Anti-Materiel rifle is actually a real .50cal firearm, the PGM Hectate II, a french sniper rifle. I didn't have time to build the rifle before Comic Con, so I'll work on it after SDCC.

Yeah, they basically all are. I couldn't find a good copy of the revolver used in the costume, so I just went with what I could find. I'll get the rifle done once Comic Con is over, I want to experiment using EVA foam for the base of the gun like those have done with their Mass Effect weapons.

Well the Duster is about 90% done, just needs some hemming and the shoulder part still needs to be created. Also gave the mask and armour another coat of primer today, I hope to get the base silver painted tonight after it is all wet sanded.

Wonder if there is a pep file for it.
Not sure, it would be awesome if one existed. I wouldn't be surprised if the design schematics were available online somewhere since it is an existing firearm.

Forearm and hand armour is primed and ready for paint.

Using a dremel tool, I cut the canal details into the cheeks.

Mask and dome are primed and ready for paint.

Using a layered painting technique, I begin the process of painting the dome. More weathering will be airbrushed after the matte finish I have currently applied is dried.

Great build. I always love watching pep and foam turn into a wonderful costume. I'm looking forward to the finished product.
