I post HERE because the people here are the most talented I can find, and because the people here can understand how much work it takes to make a project like this. I look forward to the feedback and ideas on how to solve problems. I have been lucky enough to be selected for a contest sponsered by YouTube, I am a finalist in the NextUp program. They will be rewarding orrignal content. If I am ammited to the program, they will promote my channel, pay for a new shop and train me on how to make better videos. Hello again folks, just posting with my latest progress update. Having a problem, looking for a flexable tubing material to cover the space from upper chest to waist. Must be VERY flexable. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Tom,
You have put a ton of work ad thought into this project. The most impressive project that I have seen on these boards so far. Love the updates.
For the waist and chest area, I would recommend some type of black perforated latex for coverage and mobility. For the cables, I would buy the chrome duct tape that is sold at Michael's crafts and apply that to plastic accordian tubing used for covering speaker wires. The chrome craft duct tape is not like normal duct tape because it is super sticky and will not eventually come off like normal duct tape. I have applied this kind of tape to my own Bumblebee and it has stayed on for a long time. Thanks.

wow. thats amazing. sure beats those cardboard transforming costumes! can't wait to see the progress.
do you plan on adding functioning vehicle lights?
Yes I am adding MANY lights, but I must be done with the transforming parts first. Movint the sholders in or out 1 ich is not such a big deal now, but after adding wiring it will be a more complex task. Head lights, tail lights are a must .
Hello everybody, sorry for the lack of updates, work has been a *****I have made a new video, hope you enjoy.

I just amde a short clip showing the suit up process, real suit up time about 6 min

Very cool... My only crit would be can you lock the rear wheel in place and stop it swinging back and forth?
I built in a lock, releases just before trigger pulls down rear quater. Repeated use has caused a fail, still working on making it reliable. Part of the problem is the weight of the rear quater, combined with the fact that I need a very strong spring to bring it "up". Lots of momentum to counter with every step, and need to "Lock" and "unlock" with out my touching it. If you have any ideas, please post![]()
wow that loks incredible !
I watched the most recent video and then the 3rd episode and MAAJOR differences youve deffinatly put your all into this build !![]()
The sad part is...there is as lot to go still, I'm adding parts to the arm extenions so they lay in JUST the right place. then adding braces in the underside of the hood so IT sits just right, THEN i'm going to reset the rear quaters so they ride about 2 inches higher....all so car mode looks good. I'm pretty happy with robot mode(other than swinging rear quater). Thanks for following along with meOh when I'm done, I am adding Lighttape.
Hi guys, sorry for the long absence. Here is a video showing the progress. In this one I show how I raied up the front end of the car, remounted the wheels, and remounted the doors.

This has got to be my fav ever build. I can't wait to see the end result. The amount of time and effort (I wont even ask about cost! lol) that's obviously going into this is truely impressive and that's really going to be visible in the final reveal. Keep us posted. I can't wait![]()
I agree this costume project has been monumentous th' time that ya have taken ta get this just right not to mention th' engineering side of things awesome!!!! Keep it up Tom.
A little more progress for you all...
