Hey, everyone! I just recently got my Rubies Vader and am very pleased with the quality for the price I payed.

I have worn it about 3 times and am going to start moding the hard parts. I posted a new topic to keep everyone updated. Im adding a fan to the inside of the helmet and Im looking for a good pair of lenses to mount from the inside after I cut down the rims under the lenses. In the new year I want to give the helmet a new paint job to the hard parts, and line the cape.

Let me know what you think of the pics .

Looks great! Really for what it is and the price, it comes across well out of the box.

Yeah, I own this suit too. I got it as my first costume and figured I'd be satisfied with it after a few mods. I wasn't. The quality and accuracy bug bit me.

The Rubies suit is good for what it is and I dont regret getting mine. It is what I use for most of my trooping. However, be prepared to fight off the accuracy bug, he will bite eventually..... he gets all of us.

but i agree, for the price, you won't find another complete vader anywhere. i've seen these go for as little as 300 bucks!

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

Yes, I know how unaccurate this costume is, but Iv seen alot of people do a good job modding it. Im currently working on moving the velcro out so the dome goes lower, and iv trimmed off the padding on the inside. Iv got a speaker im putting in to have the breathing play back and forth and Im getting a fan soon.

Im looking for good spray paints to use on the helmet, and good lenses to replace the stock ones with.
Im not really good at painting, I allways have the paint drips everywhere so i dont know how the helm is going to turn out.

There no doubt it can look good, I think mine looks pretty good and Ive put a lot of work into it. I just think as you get more involved in Vader and see the wuality of the stuff that's available comapred to what you own you will eventually give in. That's what happened with me.

Looks great! I think you may want to use the force to straighten up that kitchen, however!

    LOL

Looks good man. My friend just got one. I told him that he was going to need to mod some things and he said "I will just keep it like it is, it is fine for me". Well, that lasted for about a week! lol

Now he is modding the whole thing. The bug is like the dark side, once you let it in consumed you will be. lol

    Nice so far!

I haven't started down this path yet (a vader costume) but I have thought about it many times.
At least you are off to a good start!

Wow didnt realize its been this long since I updated. I applied my first coat of primmer and then added some more epoxy and sanded it back down to a way I like it. Just put anouther coat on a couple minutes ago. Heres some pics before the first coat.

Also I got my Vader Fx stock and my self converted Vader done.
Converted on left, stock on right.

Converted on bottom and stock on top.

Im also getting a Portumac Vader ROTS helm soon. Im hoping after that to get new gloves and eventually new armour.

Let me know what you think.

Some updates here! My new helm will be here in a couple weeks. Got my new gloves in and some work done on my rubies. Im thining of doing a complete overhaul of the costume. Basically take a few things I have allready and replace everything else. First thing is hard parts, then Saber, next id want a MR Vader (Iv seen some great deals for incomplete helms). Then I would finish it with soft parts main suit, then inner and outer robes. :sigh: Aboy can dream... Anyways here are some latest pics with my mock-up helm. I threw everything back on and took a few picks. Still have the stock lenses till I can find some good black acrylic I can use.

and also dont forget Sith Armors coming out real soon with the updated rots gloves after i sent him the pics of the movie gloves, and they redone them with a closer stitch pattern.

if you got his first run gloves, like several of us did, you get the new ones for round 15 bucks plus the shipping.

he should have them ready in a week or two, last he told me.
