Jul 5, 2012 - My New (from Ebay) TDK suit #1

Hello everyone, I am sort of new to these forums. I've been looking and reading them for like six months but only signed up a few months ago. I'd like to post up my recent purchase off of ebay. It is a Batman The Dark Knight, full suit.

It came with everything from top to bottom (including the cape and udersuit, but the undersuit was a separate purchase from same individual).

Upper part came assembled and lower legs section needed to be completed. Not sure if I can post the name of the seller but once I get confirmation if I can, then I will. I'll post some pictures of the gluing process (my first gluing). Then I will write up a mini review of each part.

This is my first every commissioned suit. The fact that it was Batman had me pretty excited and has prompted me to give a go at my own build. I've worked with bondo so I hope that some of the skills carry over.

    Anyways here are some pictures:

    Bust

    Cowl/Belt

    Udersuit-

Cowl on My head (had to try it on):

    More pictures after the break.

The one thing that I like, and I will get to in my mini review, is that the upper chest and "carbon fiber" parts are cast in a resin, so they are hard and maintain their shape.

That's a nice kit, the finish seems a little shiny, but its a very good suit and looks very good on you... The kids sure seem to be having a good time.

Thanks, as for being too shiny i think that it must be the flash that's making it look like that.

The kids and adults all had a blast. It was an awesome experience. I'll have more pictures up later, posting from phone right now, so excuse any typos

Here are some pictures of the party. Disclaimer, the suit is not all the way put together. You will notice that some things not glued down. Upper side armor is not fully glued down, belt is not adjusted to my size, the back leg armor is not glued down at all, and the front ab section is also not glued down. I was in a rush to get it finished up before the birthday party. With all that being said it still turned out pretty good. And the crowd was amazed (as you will see in the pictures). Some of the pictures are a bit blurry : (
