    Mar 5, 2010 - My Bossk Mask #1

Last week I picked up a cheap, upainted Bossk mask on ebay for about $65. I have masks/heads for ALL the other Bounty Hunters, so I jumped on this. It was a bit rough and thin, but I was able to work with it. Here it is before:

With it being think latex, it wouldn't stand up on it's own very well and required lots of packing materal. So I dipped strips of fabric in latex and lined the inside. This really thickened it up and not it will stand on its own. Unfortunately, not it won't stretch to fit my head either, thanks to the fabric, but I wasn't really planning on wearing this anyway.

Then I started painting, using very watered down colors. I made eyes out of clear easter eggs (good time of year for finding those). Here's how it looks now:

The eyes look a little cockeyed, but that's just how it's sitting. I can adjust that. They may be a bit too large, but I think I can adjust the eye lids to cover them more. It will look cool sitting next to 4-LOM, Fett, Dengar, IG-88 and Zuckuss!

    Should Bossk be shiny?

Yeah, the sculpt is all there, but I didn't do that. Just the paint and eyes. I'm pretty happy with my paint job! It'll look cool with all the bounty hunter heads lined up. I'll be sure to take pics at MegaCon this weekend where it'll be displayed.

That's a yeah regarding Bossk being shiney. He has a semi-gloss look in ESB.

And that mask really turned out fantastic for a quick ebay snag ....paintjob turned out really well.

Look'n good Scott! Your paint job inspired me to bid on the second mask he offered on ebay and I snagged it for only $12.50!!! I was amazed nobody else bid more, especially after people saw your finished mask, and the mentioning there was a second one for sale.

When I finish this one I will probably conduct a poll here with the masks side by side, and see which mask makes the 'best Bossk'.

Yeah, the film Bossk looks pretty slimy. This is one thing I didn't do yet with mine. I may try spraying mine with a gloss acrylic.

I understand the previous one sold for over $60.00. You just never know with ebay. I had put a bid in of over $50.00, but nobody else bid more than my previous bid. Just luck that nobody else bid more this time.
