I lose a couple of IQ points every time I open this thread. I'm baffled by the staggering number of people who lack both reading comprehension and functional eyeballs.
Baffled.
Yes, she's making iron MAN armor, but let's not be too harsh on those that are expecting her to give it a slimmer waist and some sort of bust.
Even the RDJ armor from the movies is hyper-realized and made to exaggerate the sexually attractive aspects of the male form (broad chest, large shoulders, thick legs, height, etc.) It's not such a terrible thing to think that a female cosplayer making a version of the armor might adjust it in the same way.
I'm just sayin' we don't need to get quite so upset when someone mistakenly thinks Laamberry is making a female version of the Iron Man armor, even though she's clearly said she's attempting an Iron Man build. It might just be an honest mistake, and not an expression of misogyny or stupidity.
When she's finished and it's clearly an Iron Man suit, all will be clear.
38 pages in, and it still being constantly repeated, I'm afraid I'm not seeing much distinction.
But then I guess I'm not the type to jump two-footed into a thread without at least reading the first and last few posts in it.
Wow, was there really any need for such sarcastic arrogance in your replies? I can see what she's doing and it's fantastic. I have no problem grasping the desired concept, however I thought my post was a nice contribution to her thread. I did not expect a few of you fan boys to respond in such a rude manor! Your demeaning tone was totally uncalled for! Something I'm very shocked to find on this site. As it happens I read this thread when it first started up and all I saw was guys drooling over the pictures and incapable of reeling their tongues in. So I got bored. Her skill is equal to many guys here, their threads get much less attention.
Anyway, it goes without saying this thread draws a lot of attention so if any of the pep modellers stumble across the picture I found, I'm sure some of the other ladies here would be interested. As would my girlfriend. Strategic![]()

Can we all just get along!!! so who cares if it looks curvy or no, the point here is to look at the great job she is doing...you guys need to breath, calm down, smell the roses and encourage her to keep doing such a good job...
By the way 7sinzz you are right, lately here people have been to jumpy; can we just go back to admire each other's work without making such a big deal out of nothing....
You're an excellent builder Laamberry, keep up the good work. The final results will look even better!
This looks great and I love the idea! Finally!
Well 38 pages in and it's looking good as far as I am concerned. This forum is setup to provide an equal opportunity for peoples critique/advice/input. As far as builds go they are open to anyones interpretation. No one said that you have to build to movie specs unless that is what you are really going for. It is just great to see a girl be able to produce equal or even better product then some. Great job and hope to see more!
This is amazing - so much dedication)
it is hilarious that Laam hasn't posted here in a month
also would someone mind telling me if im crazy but is the whole solid white iron man incredibly cool or am i just loopy from fiberglassing without a respirator?
I don't really know how to say this in a PC way but seriously people just look at Laams body (kudos Laam, that is one fantastic body lol), any suit she makes that actually fits her would have to have enough room in the chest and ass just for her to fit inside it, and Laams assets aren't exactly small...
P.S. when your done putting it together post a pic of it in all white please, i really want to see that...
P.P.S. that was really not PC... oops... XD
It looks absolutely wonderful.
I just started reading this thread and WOW!
I love it.
Side note: boobplate (i.e. a chest plate with prominent, sculpted breasts) is basically a terrible idea from an armour standpoint. Where a standard convex breastplate either spreads the force across the plate or causes the blow to glance aside, boobplate essentially concentrates the entire force of the blow onto your sternum. It has no purpose beyond cheesecake and is probably #3 on my list of Things Formulaic Male-Targetted Fantasy Art Has to Answer For, right behind the idea that women are 100% invulnerable on their thighs, arms, midriff and clavicle.
This message has been brought to you by the Society for the Appreciation of Women Fighters in Reasonable Armour. We now return you to your regularly-scheduled build thread.
tl,dr: LOL Y NO BEWBZ?
Wow guys. Wow.
Sorry I've been away for a month, I've been having sort of a hard time and have been moving to a new place.Because of that, Iron Man has come to a hault-- right now I'm actually in someone's guest room and I'm not about to have my projects out and about in their house. Hopefully I can still crank it out by SDCC.
but seriously. I just realized that somewhere in this thread is a picture of my 19th birthday cake with Iron Man on it and in two days now I'll be turning 21. It's been two years since I started this thread. Two YEARS. And you're all still squabbling about why or why not the suit should be feminine. Let me spell it out AGAIN.
-It is not a female suit. It will not have female attributes. It will not be curvy. I am six foot one in the suit.
-the foam is plastazote. You can get it from coscraft.co.uk
- any and all questions you have about the process are IN THE THREAD ALREADY.
-IT IS NOT A FEMALE SUIT.
I'm sorry to be harshbut after these two years I hardly want to go on anymore when this is how it is. Thank you all for the genuine support.
did you try the t-shirt ink?
oh and when you have more time more videos plz
I always just ask myself "What would Tony do"
happy early birthday

why would anyone think that
she a big girl...
Lam when you going to get that thing painted...
I know it is old at this point but my two cents are that as a female costumer I am really all for "real" woman armor. I do chainmail armor and plate armor. And all of mine are the same for both genders.
I cannot wait to see it finished. Looks amazing.
Great work Lam! Really do hope you'll carry on with this when you find the time. The build so far does look sweet!
