Jack Flag Costume (First Build)

So I have always been a Captain America fan and always thought about doing a Cap costume, but after being a member on the RPF for so long and with the recent movies, I feel that the Cap costume has been done a lot. So instead I am turn my attention to one of his proteges...Jack Flag.

Flag is definitely not a major character but I have been a fan since he was first created, and I loved his new look when I saw him in Thunderbolts #111.

I have most of the pants, top, and gloves. I am building the mask and the boots, and I have to make some altercations to the top. I will load pictures when I get a chance.

Ok so here are some pictures...

I went with Navy Blue just because I like the darker blue compared to royal blue and it was easier to find pants and tops in that color.

The bottoms are baseball pants. The top is a servers coat, I need to add the stars, leather straps, and buttons.

Under it I just wearing a red t-shirt and white long sleeve under armor.

The gloves I got from Leather Mystics (!!Leather Mystics - custom Renaissance Pirate bdsm Leather SCA leather gothic fantasy costume garb bondage leather - Medford Oregon) and they are awesome.

Still working on the mask, need to cut it out and I think I'm going to put white wire mesh in the eyes.

The boots are an old pair of Sketcher steel toed that I am going to paint red and add some boot tops too.

Nice to see something different. I'm hoping he makes an appearance or have some sort of role in the Guardians movie.

Same here...then everyone might be making his costume

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to connect boot tops to boots?

So the boots with the boot tops didn't work out, so instead I ordered a pair of the Hook Boots



And I'm just going to spray paint them red. Also I think that I am going to shorten the mask because it looks a little too much like a Grifter mask.

I have finally finished painting the boots and I think they look great.

Also I figured out what buttons I am going to use for the top. There is really no clear image for them in any of the pictures I have so I took a little creative liberty.
