Thanks Matt...:):thumbsup I couldn't agree more... heck I even used a different pep (MK8) base on this helm and voila!...:D... the mesh cheek is what I hope will set me apart from other builds (3d printed or not)...;)

Hey everyone

After the primer application, I'm back to polishing the helm.

Applied filler on pinholes everywhere...

Sand it clean... this time using 100 grit sandpaper...

After that is the SURGERY!

I finally separated the helm into 3 pieces...

Really had a hard time cutting the helm since my dremel cutting disc cannot go completely through coz the helmet is too thick...

Furthermore, the face plate wont come off even though its fully cut... chin is preventing it to come off... everything seems locked up... so i just forced it...

So this is how it looks separated in familiar pose...

The cheek will be re-attached later.

I can now proceed on reinforcing it with fiberglass, clean and fix the cut... also will attach the necessary tabs to make all the pieces join and align properly...:)

That lid is looking really sweet man! Now there is a patriot out there that's cut I was wondering how the eyes are to be made with out looking out of place once it opens. I am sure you will do a great job of it of course. Seeing as I will be doing one at some point I will be watching this space for inspiration :)

Thanks for this thread , i wanted to throw my iron patriot pep almost away already. But this thread shows me that anything can be fixed with bondo . Started to fix my helmet . Will also try your technique for the mowhawk. You sir are awesome
