    Aug 10, 2012 - Ironman start #1

I started building my own ironman suit to combine all the fun stuff in to one project.

Iīm making a master model for the helmet. From there I create silicon molds from all the parts seperately. By doing this I prevent destroying my model on which I spend at least 40hours of building and sanding. The ears are not attached since I have some nice ideas creating them as hinges for the rear part.

Also the molds are more easily accessible applying resin and fiberglas and I am able to integrate hinges more easily.

The final step before applying silicon is closing all lines with white bondo and put them back symmetrical and all with the same width. Still some hours to go.

Finally got the fine line tape determined all grooves. Next step I will deepen
    them approx. 2mm.

After the spray putty I see a lot of details on which I should spend some time on... again.

Last week I also finished the pep work for the chest and back. Unfortunately I decided to use some new downloaded pep files. Stupid not to check in detail but I ended up with asymmetrical patchwork between left and right sides. Good lesson though.

Last weekend I also started with the first layer of polyester resin on the outside. Due to the wrong pep files I had to do some extra work on stabilize it.

    But it seems it worked.
