well after a couple of trial and error for the lower forearm of the mk7 armor. i found out the hight for it wasnt the actual length going from the wrist to the elbow. but the opening by the elbow where you put the arm in.........well i hope it is, all i can say when i get this arm done, it will make the other one easier XD

    10 pieces 1/4" (6mm) THICK CRAFT FOAM SHEETS 12"X18" | eBay

this is the cheapest foam i could find. after you place the order the supplier will contact you asking what types of colors you want. also if you are not a 100 percent sure about the sizing of the armor just make it the regular pepakura way(cardstock method). that's what i did on my last armor and that did save me some cash in the long run and it will save you from wasting foam

I am going to do this suit after I finish my current War Machine build, and when I saw your problem I decided to do a quick no-tab paper and scotch tape pep of the forearm.

To tackle the scaling, I ignored the length issue, as it's 2 seperate files, and if you want to stretch the length you can just add to the upper forearm section. I just focused on the width. Using the "Measure distance between two points" tool, I checked the inner diameter of the forearm, compared it to the width of my forearm, and found it too small. Then I went to the "Scale Factor" tab, and input the width I wanted, plus 15 mm for foam thickness and breathing room. Pepped it out, at 22.25 scale factor, fits like a charm.

Just focus on the width, then make up the length by adding a filler strip at the end of the "Upper forearm" piece that slides inside the lower piece.

O, nvm, just looked at your reference, and I get why you're having trouble. The lower forearm in my mock up ends below the elbow, way shorter than in the pic. Its a brain buster because if you get the length you need, it will be way too big around..

Checked in the designer, measuring the difference between where my mock up fits and where the reference fits, decided to add 80mm to the DEPTH dimension, thats where the length lies in this piece. Final hits my arm same as the reference.

Probably just use you piece thats too large, figure out how much shorter it needs to be, then input that dimension.
