yes it is tiny.
So I talked to Smooth-on and found a yet better material. So I orded it got it in today and as far is even stronger then the resin 320.. nothing wrong with the 320. just looking whats out there. So I did a cast. but takes hours to set.... so I will update after its all set and ready.....![]()

I can never get over how technical and well-informed the majority of you all here on the RPF are. Keep up the great work. I like your philosophy of being OPEN about your build. Good Job!!
No ProblemSo got the Microcontroller ordered and flashed getting the stuff to put it all together then will be adding it to the Servo..

Mockle, if you aren't going to use Arduino, then this controller is a great way to go. It is made by Hyperdyne and allows for servo + LED control
Hyperdyne Labs - Electronics - Ghost Trap Door Controller Board
visor goes up > eye LEDs go off
visor goes down > eye LEDs go on
Absolutely this is a way to go I have looked asked all about the Arduino. Got the same results no sharing or over priced to DIY, Theres no doubt it will be open off / close on power in eyes, Im building the PCB myself. Pretty simple once its done. Ill Demonstrate it..
I have to say TASK from Smooth-on is some great stuff. I feel its much stronger, But I have not had time to abuse the 320 or TASK yet![]()
Got some odds and ends in today still more to come...

I'm liking thisNice work Mockle! nice and sharp shutting action there, seems very smooth.
Also enjoying this!!
Not knocking your build or design, and I'm no Iron Man expert! But it seems to me that the faceplate needs more rotation. This would expose more of the face....
Perhaps this could be done by attatching the pull cord closer to the fulcrum of the lever???Not an engineer either
Seems like a common sense way to solve that issue.
I'm following this thread with a lot of interest, it is simply amazing what you can do wen you actually understand what you're doing
I have the hinge system ready myself, almost identical to yours, but was still trying to figure out how to motorize it... I canดt wait to see your project complete.
Keep up the good (excellent) work...
Thanks all great comments:
Like I said lol a rough test seeing where to go from there.. have a few Ideas to throw at it..
burnt out today lmao.. So will see what will play out later![]()
