THANKS SO MUCH for demystifying this for me! Wearing most of a glove now as I type this. I just wish more RPF folks would attach PDF's like u did so us Mac folks dont get shut out.

Question tho: there's a kite-shaped piece (CDH) that's attached to the top part. It lays across my thumb: dumb question: is this thumb armor or??

I'm only having trouble getting the pieces to connect at the base of my hand (under my pinky). Otherwise it's going gangbusters.

I use another small sheet of the 2mm foam and joined the 2 together from the inside....

Wanted to share my success with j0wE's hand file. As is the case with ANY of these files, there is a bit of tweaking that needs to be done to fit correctly. I think this is especially so with the hand. After failing miserably on my first attempt, I was able to successfully complete the right hand. Each section for each finger had to be custom trimmed and fit to my hand. I had to reduce the "hole" where the finger goes on some and enlarge them on others. But, I think the end result is worth the effort. I shudder just thinking about having to do these with the original Pep files. I will go back and clean up the glue areas before sealing.

The repulsor is made from a 9-LED flashlight from Dollar General (2pk for $4) and the top of a bottled water bottle. The light is currently running off of the flashlight's 3-AAA battery holder.

that looks great. May I ask what is the thickness of your foam you are using?

Awesome file jowe!!! Good effort mate. I was wondering, what are people using under the glove? There's bits of finger showing. I've never seen this attacked before. Any links to any finished gloves? Or any suggestions?

I'm using 3mm craft foam from Hobby Lobby. An 12"x18" sheet is $0.99. You can sort of see the label in my pics. I believe the brand is Silly Works.

As for 7sinzz's question, my intent is to either make or find a pair of thin material (satin, silk, thin poly) gloves that will go at least 2"-3" past my wrist. I've viewed a few tutorials on YouTube about making gloves, but haven't had a chance to see what the material cost would be. Then, for the areas between the finger plates on the palm side, I am going to try out cutting 2mm thick foam into very thin strips to create the ribbed effect. I was initially going to use flexible wiring loom, but the plastic is too stiff and won't bend enough to my liking. I intend to glue the strips of 2mm foam directly to the exposed "under glove" area. Should give me the look I'm after and still maintain finger dexterity.

I actually have some "Nitrile Gripper" gloves that I got at Harbor Freight" for like $2.99 it's a cloth glove with a nitrile coating I guess(kinda rubbery).

    here's a pic:

I bought these : MARVEL IRON MAN MARK 7 DELUXE GLOVES ADULT ONE SIZE LICENSED 43718 IRON MAN 2 | eBay to wear under, I couldn't find anything else that would give me the right "tubing" pattern for the exposed part of fingers. Should aslo cover the wrist junction well.

Depending on how much time and energy you wanted to put into the "tubing", you could get very thin foam sheets and build the effect onto a pair of cloth gloves. This would probably look best for the wrist but it could be done for the fingers too.

You could also, at the cost of being able to make a tight fist, buy some of the actual tubing, paint it red, and cut it in half.

I bet if you cut along the valleys of the ribbed tubing, leaving the center 1/4th of it intact and gluing that to the fabric glove, I bet you could make a tighter fist.

what do you need? it's really simple the two little ends go together and you score the foam on the inside so it bends easy

Red is how it glues together and green is where you score(from the bottom) so it folds easier

Also with the 3mm foam, I don't score with a knife. I score with a pen, I basically just draw the line on there and that helps it fold better
