Iron Man Helmet - Photos of pep + a few questions...
Hi guys.
I've just finished my first ever pepakura project - the iron man helmet. I think it looks great and I'm keen to do the whole resin thing right up to painting etc. There are a few imperfections that you may/may not notice on the photos. Mainly round the back of the helmet and the ears. I've really got two questions 1. How "good" does a pep model need to be in order to continue with the resin/body filler stages? 2. Based on what do you can see on the photos would you say that imperfections - unlevel parts etc could be dealt with by filling and sanding? Any other comments? thanks! ![]() ![]()

Nice job. How long did it take you to cut and glue together? I am about to do this as well.

Took about 2 weeks from printing to finished. I outsourced the cutting (got the Mrs to do it). I did the glueing and putting together.

You used normal printer paper, right? That would explain why it looks so uneven.
TBH, I donīt know if that will withstand the resining too well :/ |

it would withstand the resin, but it will retain the shape when it hardens. I'd recommend redoing it on a 110 lbs. cardstock.

I used 200GSM card stock. Not sure what the equivalent of 200GSM card stock is in lbs

I just brought home a 250 page pack of 110 lb paper...I figure that should be lots of room for mistakes...
![]() I am about to start this myself, I have DB's second IM helm although I hear his first one was better but can't get that one anymore. I am watching this thread with great interest BBH. |

Iron Man Pepakura Helmet - Second Go. Finished.
Hi all.
Finished my second attempt at an iron man pep helmet today. It's based on dungbeetles original file. took quite a while to do - probably the best part of a month from print to finish. ![]() ![]()

Nice. I think the middle white one looks the best!

Yep Stealth. They were all side by side when I took the shot. I've taken that photo out of the list to avoid confusion however.

Re: Iron Man Helmet - Photos of pep + a few questions...
Yep Klwl is right. This one was too uneven in various places. Plus it was my first ever attempt at something like this. I thought what the hell and reprinted it again (with colour this time).
ManfromNaboo kindly merged the original thread into this one so you can see the difference. I'm focusing on my other iron man project at the mo (http://www.therpf.com/f24/iron-man-h...estions-90650/ and will get onto the resining once that's finished.
