IM battle damage HELP!

I want to do a battle damage over the face plate, is there any tutorial for that?. I dont want to dremel the face plate to make the battle damages, but it will serve me some ideas to paint over it

Plasti dip and paint it sticks well and you can basicly shape it like clay,

thanks i will consider both
