    May 7, 2012 - Hulk Build Pic heavy #1

    I always wanted to Make an 8 foot tall latex HULK. I bought an oversized mask about 10 years ago and thought that I could somehow expand the hulk costume that is sold online but never got around to doing it. I finally cut it up and am filling in the gaps, applying some latex, and will repaint.

    Currently 96 inches tall. I have shaved down the legs near the hip area to taper more towards the wearer's hips.

    interesting wat of going about it. are you gonne do something with the cavs? they look like a fat midget calf. otherwise its pretty dang cool. pretty slim for a hulk though i will say. I would like to see the hands a little over sized too. But love the colors on it and it looks like your doing a good job matching the parts up.

    I got it on the calves but they will stay that way as will everything else. I will tryo to post more updated pics tomorrow. Gotch on the slim look also. Hopefully the finished product looks a little bulkier. Will have this finished up early next week. Thanks for the feedback.

    the upper half looks so good man those cavs are ruining the illusion. Sucks you cant get those down some. You did a great job painting and patching though. Ill get my pics up tonight if i can. I finished the forarm hand connection last night. That alone is close to 3 feet long my hulk keeps getting bigger the more i work on it.

    I love what you did with the store hulk and built it up. I used the same mask you did from the 2003 HULK movie but instead built the entire body ground up. I made this costume in 2009 and it was also about 8 foot tall (depends on the guy in the suit) with me in it it was 8' 1". My HULK 2.0 is now 8' 9" tall

    Joedjc,

    Your Hulk is awesome!

    Atwest,

    I might work on the calves later on but I want to wait and see what the whole thing looks like once it is all together. I still have to paint the bottom portion of the legs and I have seen some versions of the hulk where his calves are gigantic. I would have to slice off the front sides of the calves of the original costume legs and add them to the back of the new version, then just belnd them and latex over it.

    well it not really the width i see as the problem but they looked squished in comparison to the length of the thigh and upper torso kinda hard to see the whole thing without being there. I think you did a greta job overall though i like the smoothness of it.

    @JOEdjc.

    Your hulk im loving the size of it proportions look good like the veins. My only problem with it is the use of black for your outlineing/shading should have gone with some darkers greens. I would like to see your muscle formations less blocky, and i believe part of the the illusion gets lost in neck to back transistion. I think it would look a %100 better with a well though out paint job. But as I stated befor I am very much a perfectionist when it comes to extreme costume making. I have been doing it for so many years now basically cornering the market on competetions here in michigan, lol. BUt this year i think im going to go to the big leagues and hit vegas.

    Painted green base coat finished for entire costume. Will now shade muscles wih an airbrush. Finally got the paint to stick to the mask.

    Feet are looking better with paint on upper shins completed.

    I am not so sure that I will use the wig after initially setting it on top of the head. Needs to be cut properly and fitted to head properly if I am going to use it.

    is there any way to make it look less...lumpy? and with that face, it seems awkward for him to be standing straight....but good work man, it's looking pretty awesome

    Where does it look......Lumpy, LOL!

    Cant fix the face...just the way the mask was made. It will look somewhat better someday when I extend the arms so that they are bent in more of a curl. I know exactly what you mean about everything. Thanks
