Hey everyone, hows it going. i've seen so many of these gundam mecha cosplays and really want to get one made myself. i normally do naruto cosplays and want to do something less seen in my area. and this would deff be something. i chosen the Hi Nu Gundam because i havent seen it made yet. i've seen Clive Lees how to manual and using it to a degree being theres no dementions for certain parts. and no place around me sells Corragated plastic, so i got Pink foam to carve out the head with. did start at first with a rigid plastic and it was to portioned to my head and not bigger. i want to try and stay as true to the actual gundam as possaible, i have a crazy amount of pictures of it to go off of. the plan is to shape the head out of foam and get it completed and then cover it in a resin to make it stronger. lights and all that can be done after lol. i plan to post pics of the build, but wondering too for sugestions on how to go about the head this being my first mecha build 36 (1).jpg33.jpg31.jpg32.jpg

Good luck with the gundam! I thought corrugated plastic wasn't around here either, until I found out it had a different name here. So maybe not give up on that material just yet! But I hope it works out! It's a lot of fun doing mecha :)

A quick Google search for "Gundam pepakura" turned up this as the first result. I didn't search through the thread, but feel free to check it yourself.

**Official** Gundam Pepakura File Thread

I do try and keep my self busy with a lot of different MS's.

Most of the files there are custom made Gundam's. The only good ones are Exia, Dynames, Zaku, Virtue. The Wing Zero and Epyon are pleasable, however the modeler was lazy and pasted the legs from Exia.

As for the Hi Nu gundam. I still think the files that are pepped out are finished. I'd have to give them a walk-around to see if they fit my requirerments. Most of my files are from the UC timeline. I have plans to get other MS's from other timelines at a later date.

I highly recommend Clive Lee's tutorial on Mecha suits. Im in the process of building one myself and i use Elmers "acid-free" 3/16 inch foam board. You can paint right on the foam board with no worries of drips or sagging parts. I wouldnt resin the foam helmet tho. Cover it in layers upon layers of PVA glue and then paint. You will get a smooth finish and durable helmet.
