did you mean the groove in the lense ? ... For my helmet I used 2 visors , one chrome and one clear ( this one is cut with the design ) and fix on the chrome one with 2 bolts.
Yup i used motorcycle visors. personally I used 2 gold tinted visors but each unto their own.
you should be searching the 405th lol. HJC gold visors i believe.
my experience was different though, i gutted out my Halo 3 legendary helmet so i could wear it. i JUST fits my head and i'm 5'9". if i were to talk my chin would show out the bottom. anyway i used a dremel to cut out the center, then painted the whole visor black. i then got the clear acrylic display top from my star wars die cast vehicle thing. its like the shape of half a dome, but the curve is more acute, smaller than a moto helmet, since the MC helmet is smaller. dremeled out the center shape, glued it to the inside of the MC visor, then got this "removable" window tint from walmart, its like a static cling vinyl, and tinted the acrylic so i could still see out, while the whole visor looked black and uniform. my helmet was also painted white though.
yeah that looks familiar, however you might be able to find them cheaper on ebay. i should note that these are fairly light in color, they arent dark tint like master chief, but they do what they are intended. if youre going for straight up MC, check out this guys build:

OR if you dont want to buy 2 visors and cut one up, or you feel you might mess up on the cutting, i highly suggest do what this guy did:
