That looks great so far, im a fan of the guyver series and guyver 3 being my favorite. i cant wait to see how this turns out, great job so far.
thanks guys I'm out of hot glue at the moment, so I'm a few days out from working on it again. but as soon as I get more done I'll post an update
Yea I still dont know how this site works but im learning fast! lol
Looking forward to seeing this progress, guyver 3 was always my favorite from the anime.
Helmet is coming along nice
Damn, two Guyver build's going down!? That's awesome, great start with the foam.
not done yet got some clean up and some more gluing to do. but this is were I stoped last night
now time for detailing, and after that working on the sensor orbs! and I got a cool idea for thoughs![]()
Geez, foam? I've seen it done the long way, (clay/plaster/resin mold work, and I think it was fiberglass finish helmet) on EvilFX's site. Doing a costume in foam seems, a little more daunting to me than that. I think it's probably the amount of hot glue. Which is weird since making a fiberglass helmet doesn't seem as daunting to me....
The build looks good. I'm a fan, though I haven't gotten much beyond where the anime left off, though I need to, and want to, very badly.
That is so looking really goodmy bro is a big fan of Guyver, but I never get to see all the episodes as he lives miles away from me these days. This version looks bada** so far compared to the first version.
Not sure if your aware of this, but check out this really cool technique for coating foam with resin by xrobots

Can't wait to see this finished (or my bro's face when I show him your work), keep it up, and don't let the fact that work gets in the way get you down, I have the same problem most of the time with my projects.
thanks everyone! im glad you all like it, it maked the time put into even more worth it! im at a stand still till I get payed, but when I do its full speed ahead! and ill deff post my progress![]()
I have made helmats using the pep files, clay , fiberglass you name it ive tryed it lol. foam is probably jjust as hard as the other methods but with instant gratification, becuase for the most part its already done when ur done gluing. if your not carfull with FG it can worp your project, you can get air pockets wich just cause more work. foam I think in the long run is a faster method of making props
oh, i cant wait. too bad this gundam helmet is taking too long
Are you freehanding it or are you working from a pep file? I'd considered trying this, but I have no idea where I'd even start with foam.
Sweet man I can't wait to see the final product! Bout time we see some guyvers running around!
okay so using worms for fishing lewers was a bust because hot glue does not stick to them. the plan was to use that wrap around the sensor orbs, give it a really cool organic look. ill have to keep looking![]()
