Soooo, I finally saw GOTG this weekend; liked it a lot. We are heading to Disney a World for their Halloween party in late October, and I'd love to pull together a top-notch Star-Lord costume. Based on a perusal of the boards and the backlogs on most runs, especially the mask, I am **** out of luck in getting this done in time for Halloween. Is that fair to say?

i ask because I know a lot of folks have been tracking the various SL projects closely, and probably well-apprised in how long it would take to pull everything together.

Thank you!

You could easily get everything before Halloween, with the exception of purchasing a helmet. You could try your hand at making one though. If you have access to a 3d printer, that would be the easiest route.

Thanks! Nope, no printer, no skill at 3D modeling, no time, etc. All I have is $$$.

But without the helmet, what's the point, y'know? ;)

That's a great idea. But where to get the file - one that is high-quality and screen-accurate? I apologize if these questions are stupid; I have not really delved into 3D printing as of yet.

Ha! Not 10 minutes before you posted this, I had googled "star-lord helmet 3d file" and that thread was the very first hit. Thank you!

So, this Helagek file is *the* file to use at the moment? At 19 pages in the thread, I am guessing "yes".

Hi, newbie to the board here, so hello everyone!

I'm also looking at doing a Star-Lord costume for Halloween. I'll probably do without the mask myself... Quill wears the mask for what, five minutes of total screen time?

Here's my issue: I'm going to need to find places to buy the majority of my stuff. It takes time, talent, and money to do a good costume, and of the three, money is what I have the most of. But I'm not made of it, so I'm trying to find a good balance between cost-effective and screen-accurate. So, here's some stuff I've found; if anyone has found better options than these please let me know!

Jacket - looking at this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251629927113?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Shirt - this, in denim blue, looks good enough: http://www.amazon.com/Hanes-TAGLESS...F8&qid=undefined&sr=8-3&keywords=knit+t+shirt

Pants - looking at these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MENS-ARMORE..._Merchandise&var=&hash=item58b16e2b26&vxp=mtr or maybe these http://www.amazon.com/Speed-Strengt...r=8-4&keywords=speed+and+strength+dogs+of+war

Blasters - gonna get the Nerf ones, and some black and silver paint. This project might be within my meager skill level. I did successfully paint a toy blaster for a Han Solo costume once.

Boots / Spats - gonna need some help here. Just any old black boots will probably be good enough, the spats and the rockets make the look. I know there's an Etsy seller doing 3d printed rockets, what are folks who can't craft leather themselves doing for the spats?

Eh, it can be done. Last year I made a whole Iron Man mk 42 starting in September. The Star-Lord helmet only took me a couple days. I bet you can get a whole costume in 2 months!

should be fairly easy. I have a friend who printed the Helagek one at full size before doing it again smaller if you happen to have a larger head he would probably sell it.

DUDE IM GOING THERE TOO IM MAKING AN tTASM2 COSTUME

Dude,

You can easily get the short jacket version of Star Lord done before the 31st... just a question of cost.
People's treads already show two good choices for the jackets, nerf guns, foam ball or 3d printed orbs that seperate, boots and many options for pants.

Based on the size of your head you can use the Nerf Star Lord Mask and make a helmet with that or use the U-tube Iron Man mask method. The mask in the U-tube video you need a grinder and a box of PVC parts already but it was done it 10 hours.

use pepakura for the helmet
took me a weekend to make mine image.jpg 2.jpg
