It's done. Finally! A lot of time and effort went into this outfit...lots of research and construction. And you know what? I'd do it all over again! I am quite happy with the way that everything turned out, and I am looking forward to showing it off at D*C.
I've posted bits and pieces of the costume all over this site, but I'd like to put them all in one place. Comments, questions, and critiques are welcome!

These are pictures of the ensemble:

I love this board because one of the things it allows is the exchange of knowledge and ideas. Almost everything on this costume was built by me, which means anyone can do it. I post these here as guides to others, and will try to answer any questions I can.
Oh, by the way, I am selling my version of the Browncoat, I just can't do it on this board yet.

That costume looks fantastic! Is ANY of that store-bought or did you hand make all the pieces?

Thank you!
I purchased the pants, shirt, gun, and belt. I did add the brown stripe down the side of the pants. Everything else was hand-made. The boots are built up over an old pair of shoes. I built the Browncoat from a pattern I developed after examining the show, looking at promo photos, etc. It's not exactly right, but it is very close. I was not able to find the right kind of suspenders, so I built those as well, using heavy canvas and liberal fabric dye. The brass slides on the suspenders were constructed from the same brass that is in the buckles. I used a military blue on them to kill the gleam. The holster was built using 5-6oz leather (I should have used a thicker leather).
It was a lot of fun to create this costume. I am happy with it so far, but I will probably be tweaking it for awhile!

Awesome job T-dog. I'm kinda psyched you're finally going to Dragon Con. I'd have proposed a whole firefly crew, but I think you, your wife, and I are the only ones in the group that are into it. Oh well, none of us are muscular enought to be jayne anyway.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm happy with the way it turned out.
I'm working on creating converts, but it's a long road... Having a whole crew would be great, but we can always just say they went on vacation or something...
Looking forward to seeing you at D*C. Only two more days! Turns out I will be able to get there earlier Friday than I originally thought.

Hello Tristan71,
Where did you get the belt and where did you get the boots and where did you get the buckle clasps for the jacket? Please let me know. THanks.
