Now thats a nice cod piece! lol looks like my templates werent far off! Ive got some RTV rubber I found the other day. If the gloves are a good size, I migh tjust cast them up instead of fiberglassing seperate pep hands.

well in that case! made the cod piece today and test fitted it all together. the cod peice attaches to the bottom ab plate in the front and in the back on the spine plate. heres a couple pics of it all together so far straps arent straight in the pics..ooops. i need to trim the bottom of the side plates so that they dont stick out the bottom of the cod piece.. but alll and all im happy so far. will get better pics up tomorrow.

heres a pic of the cod on its own..http://www.flickr.com/photos/48594347@N06/4586117439/ not super great still needs adjusting and minor details but will work out nicely. working on the arms right now. modified Fetts templates a lil bit so that they looks a lil closer to the movie screen shots. not sure how to address the elbow. looking for pics to go off of right now. will post more pic later.

In the print folder of the zip file the templates are in PDF format and already sized to print. The documents are also in JPEG format ready to print in letter format in case you prefer that.
but what about the ones in 1:2 scale?

let's see if this works. i finished one bicep and forarm with what scraps i had left from the 5 trash cans. went roughly off fetts templates and the imax poster. tried to get as close as i could. still need to add the elbow and the pivot points and well make the other set and legs. but first i need to get more cans.

ps if anyone can let me know how to post the pics directly in the thread please lmk.. i have yet to figure it out

If you're not real computer savvy you could just print them out then enlarge them on a xerox machine to 200%

with flicker, you click the share this button above the sets and folders on the right, then click "grab the html", and then just copy whats in the quotation marks. then here, you paste that in the image board code.

if that works for you, cool, if you need any more help let me know and i can make some screens on how to do it for you. i found as great as flickr is to save all sorts of pictures, its crap for sharing.

ok back to the situation at hand. here are some pics of the forearms and the biceps and how they are riveted together. im sure this would help someone out.
    forearm trimmed up

    inside the forearm

    inside the bicep

    Ouch
Definitely gonna want to clean up or pad those rivits they're lookin like they're gonna hurt. I'm planning to pad my own out with a foam lining (I'm thinking Craft foam but not sure how well it'll protect human flesh from unkind pinching scratching edges). That aside, certainly helpful.

Also, I was reading through another "trashcan armor" type thread on Mandalorian Mercs using sterilite storage tubs that suggested oven baking the plastic at 300 degree for ~2 minutes to get it maleable (depending on the thickness).
Also, bit of a recommendation for some of the "scraps" that are invariably going to exist (including, depending on the style of your can, the curved "lip" of can/bin/container. -You've got to make the finger-armor pieces out of something, why waste plastic?
I know there are methods of doing ity bity rivets, so I can't imagine the cost going up much. Anyone more familiar feel free to correct me though.
