Entry Level Indy Fedora?

I was wondering if there were opinions or experiences with this hat

Some of the dimensions are off, as is the shape of the top of the crown, but for an entry level, what are your thoughts?

That hat is ok, but if you could afford a bit more you would be much happier with something like this

I look at budget items like this, you know they aren't right and you know that you won't be happy with them. Plus, you will end up replacing it anyway, so $40 down the drain. Why not put in a little more money for something that you will be happy with that you will keep for a while?

Anyone have experience with the quality of this piece? I looked at youtube videos, but they weren't terribly helpful

I've only held one downtowner and they may have changed, but this one was very much a costume piece, it is loaded with stiffener, feels like some sort of resin. The hat 'looks' ok and will work for costuming... But as a hat it's like a pith helmet!

Budget hats, Akubra or Christys' both are real rabbit fur, Akubra is more durable, the Christys' more screen accurate materials.
