Deus Ex (Adam Jensen) Glasses

My Adam Jensen glasses:

Bought cheap sunglasses, cut them to appropriate shape, used JB Quik to build up shape, sculpey for those nubby things on the bottom, and some small pieces of styrene for the side details. They're held on with double-sided tape which works well.

The hair-style is a PIA. I'll have to have it cut appropriately for Halloween next year.

Next step, the arms.
So far, I'm just watching this thread too see what develops:

I actually liked the blurriness of this pic:

That looks great!

And your resemblance to the character is uncanny.

And for the uninitiated-

Holy crap and here i've been doing it the super hard way by cutting down various parts of sunglasses and piecing them together lol. Looks amazing. You should do a tutorial on sculpting the shape.

If you look very closely at the animation of them retracting, the way they do it, is they spawn the lenses as tiny little things, then they scale them up to the right size. They essentially pop in from no where. It happens so fast, you don't notice.

I didn't take any pics sorry. Maybe I can put together something showing the steps without making a new set!

I have not made molds for these yet. What you see is the master. I will probably mold them after the holidays, so anyone interested is going to have to wait a bit.

Re: Deus Ex (Adam Jensen) Glasses

These are great. I'm building some of the Deus Ex costume (vest, arms, utility belt) for someone and I'm working on a set of glasses right now actually. Double sided tape is a good plan. Is it strong enough to film some action scenes or do you think my original plan of going with spirit gum would be better for that?

Probably not strong enough to do action scenes. Adequate for trooping around though.

Stick with the spirit gum. -see what I did there? :P

Love them! I was planning on making a set of these because, well, Cyberpunk as a genre is totally my babe and I think they would be awesome for Larp.
I'm amazed by just how good they look, and wow do they ever suit you.

If you're actually planning on doing a lot of stuff, and the prosthetics weigh very much at all I think spirit gum would struggle, especially if you start to sweat.
I would advise at the least Pros-Aide, that's basically a stronger version of Spirit Gum. Or even simply Super Glue!
Super Glue is very good for affixing solid pieces to skin securely, will not be removed by sweat or action, and on the forehead you're not going to be contending with hair.
