Nah, I didn't take those shots. It's from a display at USC apparently.
I've been kicking around and idea for the bow.
I was thinking about buying the bow and recasting the riser (handle section). Then the bow ends could be made from styrene so they'd be more flexible and not put too much tension on the cast riser. For the string we could use elastic string.
This way we'd have a bow that would have the realistic look but without the pull weight of a real bow. I would cost a lot less too!
Would anyone be interested in this? If so, should we go left handed (like Jeremy in the movie) or right handed?
I'd be interested, depending on cost.
As to Left or Right, although most people would probably be Right handed (I'm Right handed myself), I'd go with the Movie Accurate Left....
Man I'm on the fence! You guys have been unintentionally really persuasive
Hey I've got a custom bootmaker who claims to be able to make a replica for $595 plus shipping. Anybody ever worked with Robert Maddux at motorcowboy.com?
Looking at the boot, the legging leather looks slightly different in texture and color. If it was custom it would all be the same.
It seems that props departments prefer to start with real shoes, for actor comfort and replacability. So the right boot is out there somewhere.
One problem is the right one is probably a few years old and discontinued.
For the belt, the bianchi 7200 has to be the closest belt you will find.
now compare it to this

Another thing I can't find is the sight/scope/laser on the bow. I wonder if it's just a laser?

Looks like a found laser sight of some type; maybe something that was modded to take the red/orange light used in the film or just a place holder for the ligting effect?
Did you guys see this? INT: Hawkeye bow and quiver
Great idea, really wish he was just offering the greeblies to add to a functional bow... Still some great shots and a good option for folks not wanting a functional piece. I want to see the quiver; I had the same plan (vacforming, etc.) and I know the original was all CNC, so it'll be interesting on how it comes out.
I have access to a 3-axis mill. If I can make an accurate 3D model, I can have it milled out of hard foam. Then I can use the foam buck to vac form it.
Well it seems like the uniform with the black vest is entirely purchasable. the pants are G3 combat pants G3 Combat Pants
the vest is blackhawk hpfu Blackhawk ITS HPFU V.2 Performance Vest

Thanks for everyone who sourced this out! Love how you can buy that first outfit right off the shelf!![]()
Explosive is spelled wrong lol
I know there was mention of someone getting the Hoyt bow and casting the grip. I would definitely be on board for this. While I would love to have an exact functioning bow, I already have a recurve and a compound bow, so I just want something for the costume. Plus I want to make it collapse for ease of carrying so I don't need one that can actually shoot an arrow. I plan to just use elastic cord for the string and make the hinges functional. So, if the whole casting thing comes to pass count me in!
In the meantime, I've started on my V1 Hawkeye (Black). Hopefully I'll have some pics soon...
Now that I know I can get the Airflex knee pads by themselves, I'm feeling more confident about the pants for the V2 costume. For V1 I'm just going to attach them to a pair of black tac pants and call it close enough for now.
