Re: The Definitive Captain America "Avengers" Costume Thread

Has anyone found any more "found" accesories. I want to take a crack at this for the premier next year. I'm thinking the gloves may also be Oakley but I can't find anything witha similar pattern/ color scheme.

They are more than likely custom, your best bet is to commission them / make them yourself ...... I've searched and searched and could not find anything with that color scheme

Re: The Definitive Captain America "Avengers" Costume Thread

it ended up being a speciality fabric from china, then it had to be dyed to the right colour, blue and red. it will be near enough a perfect replica once finished.

WOW good find! I never noticed this before. I now have seen three different styles in the movie: Concept Art, Filming, and this. Which one will they actually use?!?!?!?!

Ok....adding to the fabric discussion........

I was at Walmart tonight looking for one of those Flip Video cameras, and strolled through the mens dept. while I was there.

I came across an athletic shirt that looks to be almost an exact match to the pattern of the fabric on the new Cap suit. It was a two tone blue shirt made by OP.

Re: The Definitive Captain America "Avengers" Costume Thread

After a quick look, this shirt does not appear on the Walmart or OP site at all.

However, I snapped a lousy pic of it .......

But I see I need to upload it somewhere so I can post a URL to direct you to the pic.

ahem.

I'll figure it out tomorrow.

My best guess is a Noveske short barrel M4 with suppressor (typical Hollywood mistake to put that much muzzle flash even if has a suppressor on it) and a bunch of accessories, but could be another rail aftermarket manufacturer supplying that barrel assembly. The receiver is most definitely an M4 design.

I wonder if the cowl above....was simply a prototype...remember the first shot we got of the avengers was a drawn one..and caps cowl looked more like this one here form the trailer... I imagine they changed it to the ear covered model shortly after

Re: The Definitive Captain America "Avengers" Costume Thread

Didn't notice the cowl is a different design on that case shot in the trailer, but given all the shots we've seen from the sets, they are most likely using the cowl design with the ear protectors. Maybe the one in the case was simply a prototype SHIELD was storing? Or the producers didn't think we'd notice the difference?

As for the comments on Chris Evans' build for Avengers, he's definitely thinned down noticeably since TFA. Keep in mind that A) that's not his natural body size so it's hard to sustain esp since he bulked up very quickly for TFA (building muscle mass slower makes it easier to maintain), B) they swelled him up for the shirtless shots in TFA, and C) the TFA suit has some padding and other simulated armor pieces that gives him a bulkier look.

I agree with some of the people here that the new Cap costume isn't as nice as the TFA one, it just looks cheaper and a dolled up spandex suit IMHO. I got no problem with the cowl/helmet, just the base suit itself; the Oakley gloves and boots look fantastic. If they had incorporated some modern armor designs into the suit, it would've looked a whole lot better and more functional, just my 2 cents.
