colorsuits.com stealling designs

I reported their Facebook and tried posting a warning on their wall . What they are doing is just horrible.

With great power...

Oh damn, i just recently started looking into some places that sells sub dye batman suits and i came across colorsuits on ebay and saw them selling a new 52 batman i was quite interested in it, but im always more cautious in what im buying and thats how i came across this thread. I totally detest ppl stealing and making a profit out of a person's hardwork. So i thank you guys for posting this and i will spread the word to my friends who arent RPF goers but who interesting in cosplaying about this.

It's exactly because of this and people like Snikt Shop "Logan" that this website desperately needs a transaction feedback system. In every other forum I go to, each user has their own feedback rating/thread. This means you can track anyone's reputation, which means you can sell to and buy from members more confidently.
With a thread like that, if you're selling prints and files through RPF, you can track the person who works for Colorsuits, or who gave/sold the file to Colorsuits.

Pretty much this!

^ The endless cycle of this argument. Only people who have never sweat for hours and hurt their hands making something bring up this perspective.

This!

I've never made a print, or model or anything that can be copied, and you can see by my word count I'm very new to this, but surely all it takes is a little bit of imagination to realise just how much effort goes into creating these things from scratch.

Technically yes, it's a 'stolen' design, but if someone is willing to put the effort in and create something wonderful, then share it with a community for a very reasonable price, I'd say its not to much to ask for a bit of solidarity and support

are they buying lenses from TJack also? the lenses they have on the suit in the picture looks like his work.

Prior to any of the issues with Orhadar, I did supply him with some - he has not been recasting any of my lenses.

Has no clue what he's saying
good question. um just curious. how can someone say someone else stole his design, when his design orginally is a copyrighted look and costume to begin with? anyone truly whining bout stolen designs, are already pirates and bootleggers of a costume design with a trademark already. And I am sure if anyone complains to Marvel, that will shut EVERYONE down . I honestly think some people whine too much bout something that they shouldnt be whining about. Just saying.

Cus they made it from scratch using reference etc hence it is their design to an already existing costume/suit. For example if i make a sculpt of Batman then this is my design even tho i dont own the rights to Batman it is still my design. ;)

Then clearly you have no clue as to what we are on about. While the people that create these design like 3d models/ sub-dye's etc copy this from an existing piece from a movie or whatever they get it from, they do this to share with the community. Like said before if you spent hours on a model or prop to get it close to perfection only to have someone recast/copy it and claim they "made" it then they have a right to "whine". No bs trademark or whatever just plain respect for another persons work.

I think the real key part is this; We need to give credit where credit is due. I can't go around building an Iron Man suit using Dancin_Fool's files, claiming I am the original creator. Colorsuits.com can't go around selling Spider-Man suits that are "original designs." Sadly, when you are a content creator and you post something to a community for use, you run the risk off other a**holes ripping off your work. We all just need to remember to give credit to other's work.

Heathbar, the point here is 2 things.
1. None of use cosplayers and prop makers ever go to the corporation/rights holder for support. We know it will bite us in the ass. I don't know why you would assume anyone does that.
2. While Marvel owns Spiderman, they have never produced what Orhadar makes. What Orhadar makes can be considered fan art made from scratch. If Orhadar started making his own Spiderman movies, or Spiderman comics, and sold them for profit, then he would be stepping directly on Marvel's efforts. But as it stands, he's making a unique product at a high standard, and it's 99.99% his effort. He absorbed something through his eyes, and put out something through his hands. He didn't grab something pre-made and tweak it a little bit.
