Clint Eastwood-The Man with no Name

Hi.
I'm new to this, but I am trying to make a replica of the costume worn by Clint Eastwood in the Dollars trilogy. It's going well so far.

At this point thoug, I'm stuck on the poncho. I know that there are replicas for sale online, but I'd much rather make one myself.

Problem is, I haven't been able to turn up any information on what kind of wool was used to make the poncho, or the where to buy the material.

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It appears brown in this picture, but in reality it is an olive green color.

We had a decent discussion here about the costume.

I know someone who is attempting to have the most accurate poncho ever made become available for purchase on the rpf, but the timetable might be a little long. Research is still ongoing. Rumor has it the poncho is not actually wool. Well, not in the common blanket/woven kind of sense.

If you'd like any more help or advice, pm me.

Thanks for the advice and pics guys!
I was actually able to find a wool ream that closely resembled the poncho in your pictures. It shouldn't be too long before I can complete the costume.

I will post pics when done.
