This stuff looks a lot like the material used for the race suit.
Damn, I need to find some of this.

Wouldn't surprise me. I bet that they used the same process to make it.
So here's another question: The roundish belt thingies. I expect they're manufactured like everything else, but does anyone know what they're supposed to be for? There's the one on the right side in front, and two in back.
I think it's where she pulled the throwing disks from in the fight sequence, but the whole thing goes by so fast that even after two viewings I'm not sure.
Has anyone seen a found object like them? EDIT: And then my hubby got up, read the thread, and said, "Handcuffs." So now I'm hunting through handcuff cases.
After a spin through Home Depot yesterday, I'm considering urethane shower liner as a possible material. Also considering rubber garage door bottom for the main belt, with trimming to make the top and bottom edges match. It's softer than I'd prefer, but it would give the right shape.
Krylon's vinyl coating paint does come in a flat charcoal grey -- found it at an auto parts store -- so whatever I end up Frankensteining together (probably with Shoe Goo) will get a coat of that for uniformity. I might even still cannibalize a couple pouches from a Rubies Batman utility belt. I picked one up and sprayed it black (hadn't found the charcoal grey vinyl coating at the time) for my "quick 'n' dirty" opening-day costume:

The pouches are a little big, but I might go with them anyway because I like the idea of a superhero costume where I can actually CARRY necessities for a change! If I do go that route, I'll probably keep this belt the way it is for multi-purpose use and go back to the party store for another one to cannibalize. They're only $4.99.
The costume I did I wasn't going for 100% screen accurate, but I think it still came out pretty good.
For the belt I just used dark grey vinyl.
The bodysuit fabric I found was a double-knit lycra which has the right amount of stretch and has the subtle texture of the original. The underlayer of this fabric is gray, but if it were dyed a dark navy, the highlights of navy might show through. The fabric swatch doesn't look anything like the costume stills, and even in digital it read as "textured black" on the big screen. So I'm not fussed about it.

got my costume card...CONFIRMED, it looks like a rubber screen print, navy over black. Stark's race suit is similar, royal over black.

Got my trading card today. The pattern is way tinier than I expected. Gonna break the card open to see how thick the material is.
What color would you say these boots are?
Lol, I was wondering if anyone else was thinking that. I'd say they're a really dark blue colour. I thought it was just my wonky eyesight, but the zips are black and a different colour to the leather.
