Photos by Bill Doran 2010

General Kael and Queen Bavmorda on the way to Emerald City Comiccon Seattle 2010. My friend Brit threw together her Bavmorda costume in under two weeks, It took me quite a bit longer.

We just got back from the Comiccon, we got a huge response. Could barely take two steps when we had to pose again for about 10 photographs. It's great seeing peoples reactions as they slowly put together what the costumes were from.

With the boots I stood about 6ft 5, that little extra towering over people made it so worthwhile.

I'm pretty proud of what I could throw together with plastic, pvc, foam, cloth, and paper mache.

Wow, those turned out great!

Any pics from the con?

I think I could have taken them.

I call this picture "Hey, you're not my boss", I've been to ECCC twice now, and I've had my picture with this guy from the 501st both times. It's going to be a running gag I think. I really wanted to get a picture with vader, but it was just too busy around the 501st booth.

There are some other pics of fun costumes up on flickr.http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&q=emerald+city+comic+con+2010&m=text#page=0. My other fav's from the convention was the guy who did the spacesuit from Alien (He posts here on RPF I think), and 'Mario and Lugi as Green Lanterns'.

OH MY GOD!!!!! Absolutely stunning!!!:eek I absolutely love everything about your costume!! Fantastic job!!!

Now I have to finish mine!

I saw you guys at the con. I took a photo of you both! I was the Doctor Doom at the show. You both looked amazing! Seriously nice work. :cheers

Wow! I love how people are going back to the 80's films to really go all out on their costumes!

These are fabulous! Any intention to go back and do more work? or was this a one time just for fun deal?

:thumbsup

I like doing obscure costumes, several people at the Con mentioned that they had never seen this costume before, which was part of the reason why I did it.

I think someday I will revisit the costume, perhaps next year I will fix some of the problems I have with it. Then try to find some people to dress up in the other costumes and do a whole group thing. But who knows.

Hey Hamster, do you happen to know what thickness the pvc foam was on the crown? I am trying to get an idea of what thickness I would need but its all in mm =(
