I'm not sure what to think, but that batsuit is very influenced by the armored suit in Arkham asylum. Robin is terrible though.

Reminds me of an episode of Batman Beyond where Terry takes elderly Bruce to a really bad musical about Batman that ticks the old man off.

Okay... the costumes all seem very "Arkham" inspired... But just because something inspires you, doesn't mean you're going to do as well or better than the inspiration.

The Joker reminds me of Ceasar Romero and Harley looks like just a girl in pigtails... Look at the weird look on Batman's face... it's like he's trying not to laugh.

Being a Harley costumer, I'm gonna go ahead and say that this Harley design, looks like a cracked-out Pippi-Longstocking.

Why isn't Ivy a RED red head? That's near strawberrry blonde. And why is Robin wearing maile? No one cares about Robin. Also, Catwoman's costume is HORRIBLY ill-fitting. Batman is the only one I see that I can throughly give a thumbs up to, here.

HA! Riddler does look like Bruce Willis.

Agree with NickyTea. There is a whole new set of rules for costumes when you actually have to perform in them! I have seen much worse.

Yeah, the villains look like they came out the Adam West Bat-Man TV show, whilst Bats looks like he came out of Arkham Asylum. Harley looks aweful, she looks like the Harlequin characters that precede the Paul Dini version of the character, but maybe that's what they were going for maybe? I think Bat-Man needs a coat of black paint on that armor, it just looks so shiny, lol. Isn't this production supposed to be a serious stage show?

No, this doesn't work for me....i guess Batman is metallic silver to show up on stage......this is just a Schmacher rehash...of all the things to take inspiration from.......

Wow ... This looks like a design project some high schooler threw together for an art class. This is kind of horrible.

The good news is, you could probably recreate these costumes under $100! XD

I agree with NickyTea. These are designs to be seen form the cheap seat in an arena. These costumes are totally inspired by Carlos D'Anda's sketches for the Arkham Asylum game, right down to the poses they struck in the group shot.

An awful design is an awful design. I could have done better than this in my sleep.
And as far as there being a "whole new set of rules" for theatrical costuming, well that's a sweeping generalization. Musical theatre is one where movement is a big issue. Yes, the costumes have to allow for your physical movements, but since its a spectacle, they also have to have a life of their own. Clothes should move in musical theatre. Fuller skirts, fuller capes, etc. And color! A good costume designer can do this without looking cheesy.

Yeah, not really at all what I meant.
I've made my living in theatre for the last five or six years. While not in the costume department, I'm not totally unfamiliar.

I wasn't meaning to insult these costumes, as they aren't aesthetically appalling to me personally. I think they look interesting. I was only saying that coming to judge these costumes based on what seems to be an expectation for a film-like design will always yield disappointment.
