It looks like one solid piece so how does the mask expand to get on your head?

the cowl is made primarily out of duct tape and thin cardboard molded/formed onto my head with a little amount of space to allow for a baclava to be worn underneath. only the brow, cheek and nose flare is made with plumbers putty that hardens, so only the front top portion is stiff and the rest has a fair amount of flex.
worked on the belt...
painted the buckle...that's spidey4fun's TDK pics seen at the computer screen, hehe..
spent a whole day doing this.. not perfect but good enough for halloween..
will finish this then proceed to the thighs/legs next weekend..
thanks for looking...![]()

mesh is an anti-slip table runner, the texture on the pecs is a plastic table place mat. belt buckle is cardboard, the belt links from eva foam glued onto yoga mat...![]()

The belt looks sick! That's some awesome work.
This is the most creative Dark knight suit I've ever seen... I need to sub to this thread.
Hello, did you use the pepakura file for the mask od something else? :-D
also do you have a video maybe how did you make the mask in detalis and full description?
:-D
a stormy Tuesday (work suspended) allowed me to work on the thigh armor...
anti slip table mat, illustration board, elmer's and hot glue....
painted and attached to the abs and chest piece...
laid on the floor to check scale...
laid out with the rest of the finished parts so far...
will attach elatic straps to the thigh armor then work on the boots next..
comments? suggestions?
thanks for looking.![]()

thanks bros, hopefully this will be done by next two weekends (sooner if the next storm predicted suspends work again) so refinements can begin prior to Halloween ( will probably redo the gaunts and shoulder bells if time permits).
Great build! Beside elastic straps, how will the loose portions of the "Anti slip mat" stay on your body?
good question. i'm hoping about three elastic straps will hold the thigh armor in place and the loose portions....hmmmm, well... probably velcro or duct tape (hehe), or trim/cut it off....will figure something out when i test fit the thighs with the straps...will show pics of how it'll look.![]()
Omg! That suit is soo awesome and creative, if you start making another one, I may be interested in buying it, TDK suits are expensive =(. Congratz!!
1) awesome!
2) How do you shape the cardboard? Curvature I mean. I guess more specifically I should ask is there any special technique that you use to curve the cardboard?
Thanks..
thats two cardboard pieces glued together, one is slightly smaller in shape than the one underneath. bend both pieces to desired curvature then glue together , wait for pva glue ( while holding it in the shape) to set and it should hold the curvature. when dry, seal the edges of the cardboard with more pva/elmer's glue so the ply will not separate. brush cardboard with glue wash ( glue thinned with water) so paint will stick better.![]()
did a **** poor attempt at a pair of boots...
rubber boots...
cut it up...
made these parts (yoga mat)...

not too happy about it ...but it'll have to do...this is a budget build after all
